Learning To Live After Losing A Person

Attack of the 100 calorie packs

January 14th, 2008 by Pamela

It seems like every time I turn around there’s another product touting it’s 100-calorie-ness in my face.  Don’t get me wrong, I swear by these things.  I couldn’t have lost the weight I have without them.  If your problem is portion control, they’re a god-send.  If your problem is portion control combined with a tight budget, they’re horrifying.

I know that in the interest of saving money, I should just buy a bigger bag of the same product and divide it out into individual portions.  This is easier said than done, however.  I just don’t trust myself.  It’s way too easy to say, “hey what’s one more chip,” or “what’s .1 of an ounce more?”  Which, obviously, could get dangerously out of control.  So until I can learn to trust myself to not try and sneak in those extra cheetos or extra 1/10th of an ounce, I should consider buying stock in the company that makes them.

I completely agree. I am a tight-wad when it comes to grocery shopping. I am a huge coupon shopper and I will pretty much use the generic of any item with the exception of mayo. It has to be Kraft and nothing else. And no, not the fat free kind either. Sorry, but this is one thing I will not budge on. lol

Anyway… you see 100 calorie packs. I will go for broke buying these things. LOL For the simple fact that, I also, simply do not trust myself!

There is no way I can imagine myself with a giant, Sam’s Club, bag of Cheetos putting them into individual baggies. Do know how many points I would consume while doing this? LOL Hell, do you know how many points I consumed just by THINKING about doing this? ROTFL

I think you get my point! ;o)
