Good Sense Bar-B-Q Flavored Soynuts

I have a new addiction!  And it is a much better one than Blue Bunny Fudge Bars.  And this one I can somewhat control (as of now, anyway!).  It is Good Sense Bar-B-Q Flavored Soynuts.

I’ll admit it – I’ve never had a soynut until yesterday.  For one reason, the link between soy and breast cancer has tended to scare me a bit, even though it’s never been completely proven.  I did read one study eventually that said that it is fine if eaten in reasonable quantities from food.  Although, who can define what the term “reasonable quantities” means?

Anyway….the point is that I love nuts.  Cashews are my favorite.  However, since joining Weight Watchers, I’ve avoided them like the plague.  Yeah, yeah.  I know they have all of that good stuff in them, but the suckers are just too darn high in points!  3-4 pts for a little snack is just too expensive for me.  So I was just browsing the nut aisle (actually the salad toppings aisle – but it was full of nuts, and not just of the human variety) and was picking up and putting stuff back because the point values were too high.  Until I got to the Good Sense Bar-B-Q Flavored Soynuts!

At 130 calories, 7 grams of fat, and 5 grams of fiber per 1/4 cup (30 gram) serving, they’re only two points!  Two!  I can handle two points for a snack.  (I know it’s only one less than three, but every point counts!)  The best part about them is that I’ve been trying to get more protein into my diet and these have 9 grams of protein for every serving.

I believe the next time I go to grab a 100 calorie bag of Cheetos, I might just reach for these instead!  Fiber and protein! You can’t beat that!  An added benefit is that because they’re so small, they take longer to eat than the Cheetos would!
