Learning To Live After Losing A Person

New Food Finds

March 9th, 2008 by Pamela

While I was grocery shopping today I went to stock up on my favorite 100 calorie packs of Cheetos and saw two new kinds of 100 calorie packs.

The first is Lay’s Cracker Crisps, which I tried tonight and really love.  If you’re wanting that salty chip taste but don’t want the risk of opening that big bag of chips, then these are for you.  They taste kind of like a combination of Baked Lays and crackers.  I will definitely buy these again.  At 100 calories, 3.5 grams of fat, and 1 gram of fiber, they are only 2 points.

The other new product I saw was also found with the Lay’s Cracker Crisps (near the 100 calorie packs of Cheetos and Doritos) and while I can’t remember the exact name, it was 100 calorie packs of white cheddar popcorn.  It looked really good, but each bag contains 6 grams of fat so I passed them up thinking they would be 3 points.  In using my Weight Watchers calculator, though, their 1 gram of fiber puts them back down at 2 points.  If you really want cheesy popcorn, I suggest getting a 90 calorie bag of Curves popcorn and sprinkle some Nacho Cheese or White Cheddar Kernel Season’s Popcorn Seasonings on it.  You’ll get a whole bag of cheesy popcorn for one point.

While I’m on the subject, I’ve also fallen for Breakstone’s new individual cups of 2% milkfat cottage cheese.  Their LiveActive version is apparently designed for digestive health and contains 90 calories, 2 grams of fat, and 3 grams of fiber for 1 pt.  If you like cottage cheese, I think you’ll like these as much as I do.

Egg Beaters also has a new product that contains just a “touch” of yolk for added flavor.  If you’re eating the original Egg Beaters, you can have up to 1/2 cup for 1 pt.  Not so with this new version.  With the new version, 1/4 cup is 1 point and 1/2 cup is 2 points.

Happy shopping!
