WARNING ***SPOILERS***
As usual, tonight’s episode was emotionally heart-wrenching. I was deeply disappointed that Bernie didn’t make it back onto the show. He was so close! I’ve got my fingers crossed for him, though, for the finale. I know he’s going to do great. I have to add here that I still love Trent, too!
One thing I love about this show is that it can bring both tears and laughter. A couple of my favorite comments tonight were from Dan (when he was talking about how great he is at creating joules and then admitting that he really didn’t have a clue what a joule was) and Maggie (when she said she’d get a tattoo on her ass if it meant they’d vote for her). They both made me crack up. I have to admit that the Blue Team boy’s club is starting to get kind of old. They’re eventually going to have to start voting for each other. It’ll be interesting to see what happens then. And the whole “Pride on three” thing is really starting to grate on my nerves.
A couple of other gripes while I’m at it. The first, is it just me or are there WAY too many commercials in this show? I mean, I know that the commercials pay for the show, but I feel like there are two minutes of show in between the commercials. The other thing is that Bob is absolutely terrible about reading his lines when he’s doing his trainer tips. Have you noticed that? I know that most people do read their lines when they’re having to give a speech in front of the camera, but most are usually a bit less obvious about it. Seriously….watch his eyes next time.
While I’m mentioning the trainer tips, I loved Jillian’s comments tonight about sleep. She makes a very good point and it makes me wonder if perhaps irregular sleep might have something to do with my struggles lately. My sleeping pattern has been extremely off for a while now.
Just one more gripe. I promise. WHY is it necessary to have them strip before getting on the scale? We all know that they aren’t really being weighed in right then on that scale. (If you didn’t know, now you do.) What does it matter what they wear? And after a certain point in the game, all of the men are allowed to wear their shirts. Why must the women continue to show their stomachs? Let me tell you, as a woman who has lost a lot of weight, that cannot be a pleasant experience. As if getting up there and broadcasting your weight to the entire world isn’t bad enough, you have to let it all hang out, too?
I was very surprised by how heated Jillian’s comments got at the weigh-in tonight. Allison’s questions do seem to pinpoint and pick on the person who has had the most difficulty that week, but I’m sure it’s hardly her fault. She’s just saying what they tell her to say, and as far as the show is concerned, it’s good TV. They did have a very good point, however, about women not being able to lose as quickly or as easily as men. And yes, Ali did become biggest loser of the week, but how often does that really happen on the show? It seems like that is very rare.
If you’ve been reading any of my previous posts, you know that I’m rooting for Brittany. I’m not surprised after the week she’s had that she only lost two pounds. She seems like an extremely sensitive person and I know that emotional upheaval can wreak havoc with your metabolism and weight loss. My heart goes out to her because I know it’s not easy. It really goes out to all of them, because there really isn’t a single one that I dislike. I also know what they’re going through to a certain extent. It’s been difficult for me and I didn’t have the pressure of having the whole world watching! The scale is so fickle anyway. It almost seems like a crapshoot sometimes. Sometimes your hard work shows off, but other times it seems like it has a mind of its own.
I can’t wait to find out what happens next week!
