Learning To Live After Losing A Person

Biggest Loser 3/18/08

WARNING  ***SPOILERS***

I might be a bit biased since I’ve been rooting for Brittany, but they’re idiots.  They’re all idiots!  I shouldn’t be all that surprised that the Blue Team Boys Club (BTBC) decided to vote her out, but at some point they’re going to have to become a bit cannibalistic.  I mean, the last I heard, they all came to win.  Wouldn’t the smart thing (at this point with so few people left) have been to vote out the biggest threat?  Ah well.  I was obviously sad to see her go, but she looks amazing.

Now that my little rant is over, I have to say that I love, love, love this show!  I was really excited about tonight’s episode and it didn’t disappoint.  Seeing their emotion and pride during the makeovers was so wonderful.  I think part of why this show touches me so much is because I’ve been where they have been.  I understood what they were saying about not being able to go into a store and buy any clothing.  And the emotions that go through you when you can finally go into a store and actually buy something and then realize that it’s not even close to being the largest size in the store is indescribable.  There just aren’t words.  So, I have to say that their tears brought tears to my eyes.

One of them mentioned always looking for darker colors to wear and I realized how true that is.  I always pretty much stuck to black when at all possible, but now (while I still love black clothes) I’ve been branching out quite a bit color-wise.

Jay’s reaction when he saw his wife on the runway was hilarious.  They all looked amazing, but I think Kelly’s makeover was the most stunning.  She looked gorgeous.  If you’ve read any of my previous posts, then you might have seen the post I made about the day I discovered my collar bones, so you can imagine how I laughed when I heard Ali make the comment, “I have collar bones!” to her sister.

It’s always interesting to see what products they use on the show.  Tonight they showed that they use the One A Day Vitamins.  I’ve been using the Women’s One A Day since I started WW.  I had read a study about how a bunch of different varieties of vitamins had been tested and many of them didn’t contain the amount of nutrients they claimed.  Women’s One A Day was one of the few on the list that actually measured up to its stated ingredients.

And that challenge!  My God!!  To have to walk backwards on a treadmill at a steep incline raised 10 feet over a swimming pool?? I would have fallen right off just trying to get onto the damn thing!  I definitely wouldn’t be able to walk afterwards! I guess it would be a good thing to have them fall into a pool.  Perhaps the water can soothe their legs a bit.

Also, as soon as Roger started complaining that Mark wasn’t being as outgoing as he had been, I immediately knew what he was up to.  Of course he was upset that Mark wasn’t ticking people off anymore, because that would make Mark less of a target and Roger more of one.  I was very surprised, though, by how vicious he got in his argument with Mark about it.  I have to admit that I kind of enjoyed seeing a little rift in the BTBC.

I never would have imagined that Kelly would be the last black team member standing, but I’m happy for her.   I’m happy for them all, and like them all, so it’s hard to say who I’m going to root for now.  I just can’t wait to see what happens next week!
