Learning To Live After Losing A Person

A “Fantastic” Compliment

March 21st, 2008 by Pamela

In the midst of a rather crappy day today, I had a Partner at the firm I work for come up to me and say, “Pam, you look fantastic.  Have you been running marathons?”  After laughing hysterically at the thought of me running, let alone doing a marathon, I thanked her.  This really made my day; all of the other issues I’d been dealing with (co-workers with no common sense being the chief concern)  just kind of faded away.

It was especially meaningful because this is a women I respect tremendously.  She has worked at the firm for 30+ years and was the first female Partner in the firm.

It’s amazing the power that a tiny little compliment can have on someone.  I promise to pass on the favor as often as I can.  There might be someone around you that needs to have their day made, too.  Pass on a compliment!
