An eventful weekend ahead
As I mentioned when I posted on Tuesday, this weekend is not going to be easy for me. I peeked at the scale today and am down one pound, which is fantastic considering I’ve bumped up my exercise quite a bit this week. However, as I said on Tuesday, I have a big luncheon to go to tomorrow. I have no idea what the menu will be, but I remember that last year’s menu had a seriously rich chocolate dessert at the end. Guessing points is not going to be a picnic. I say now that I’m going to try to do my best by guessing points and by only eating things that taste really good. If I taste something and I decide it’s not that great, or not worth the points, I’m going to allow myself to feel okay about leaving it on the plate.
Then, on Sunday, my family is getting together for dinner with my aunt and uncle who are coming in from out of town. It’s going to be a kind of potluck with hamburgers and hot dogs. I believe that we’re going to be taking a veggie tray of some sort, so I’m okay there. I’m trying to decide about what to do on the hot dog/hamburger front. I’ve been doing so well the past several weeks, I really don’t want to screw things up now. So, I’m thinking of taking my own hot dogs. I love the Ball Park fat free (the mixed turkey, not beef) hot dogs, as they’re only 1.5 pts for two! Since it’s just family and kind of a potluck, hopefully they won’t be too offended. I also figure that they wouldn’t question someone who has another dietary restriction bringing something they can eat (such as someone allergic to dairy). This is just my dietary restriction. Of course, a big juicy hamburger does sound good. I honestly can’t remember the last time I had one. Two years ago?
I think the most fun part of the weekend will be seeing my aunt and uncle on Sunday. Neither of them have seen me since before I started Weight Watchers. More than 150 lbs ago. My mom talked to my aunt earlier today and she said she’s looking forward to seeing me. She said that my other uncle told her that he wouldn’t have recognized me if I had passed him on the street, so this should be fun.
