Okay....I don't think I buy that many books of that price a month, but I'm rethinking the library situation here...

well, a 9 day/8 night trip to Ireland in Sept. with hotel & airfare from KC is only $1804 on travelocity. Assuming an average price of $15 per book, that is only 120 books a year or 10 a month.

Makes the library look pretty good, eh?

I know, I know. But Shawna, it's just not the same. :P Besides, they don't always have the book I'm ready to read and then you have to wait for it and I don't have that much patience. I always end up returning them late anyway and ending up with fines. Plus, I'm really hard on my books - dogearing the corners and breaking the spines and everything. I know, shame on me, but when you have someone else's book you have to be so careful. And I want to know that it's there on my shelf ready to go if I decide to flip back through or even read it again.

aw Pam, I'd like to introduce you something revolutionary that is slowly taking the country by storm. In fact, by August, they should be everywhere. I know you might not be ready for this kind of concept yet - but work with me here. At these places you can kind of "rent" books for free! I know - Amazing! They are calling them "libraries" so be on the lookout for one.

Wow, you're the only other person I know that reads more than one book at a time. Right now I have three books going. Which one I pick up depends on the mood I'm in.

I love books too. I work for an airline and we use to have big sales to the employees of all the junk people leave on the airplane. Of course, books are a popular left on board item. We'd sell the books for fifty cents for paperbacks and $1 for hardbooks. Of course, all the newest books were left on board. I now have boxes and boxes of unread books in my garage. Yet, like you, I can't pass up a bookstore (and Amazon.com).

I've actually been a pretty good girl lately! I haven't been on a major shopping expedition there in several weeks. I did go last weekend to get my dad a book for father's day, but I only bought a magazine (with C. Bale on the cover, of course).

Before I posted this, I had had multiple piles of unread books laying around and decided to put them all into one place. That's when I realized just how many were in it.

My problem is going to hit in August when at least three of the series I've been reading have new books coming out.
