Learning To Live After Losing A Person

Sometimes I love my job

June 19th, 2008 by Pamela

One thing I forgot to mention when I wrote about my evaluation is that this is now my fifth year of employment here.  I can’t believe I’ve been in one job for five years.  That’s insane.  But because it’s been five years, I get a gift from the company, and I get to pick what I want!  They all average around $65 range (I’m bad, I know, but I googled them).

They had several items to choose from, from a Waterford crystal clock, to a Poker set, to a jewelry box, to jewelry, to a bronze-colored globe, to a wine connoisseur kit, vases, etc.

I’m rather limited on space at the moment, so I’m leaning towards getting something that I’ll actually use and that won’t just sit and gather dust.  So, I’m leaning towards either this necklacethis bracelet, or this pearl bracelet.  I don’t have a pearl bracelet, but the clasp is gold and I never wear gold.  I like the necklace and it is worth more, but it’s only 16 inches which is kind of short.  So, I’m thinking maybe the silver bracelet.  I can’t decide.  I have until Tuesday to make up my mind.  What do you guys think?

Update:  Of course, now I’m thinking maybe the pearl bracelet again.  Ugh.  Help!

    #1 - pearls? ugh

#2 - you could always get something to give to someone else

Yeah, in thinking more about it, I probably wouldn’t wear the pearls all that much. So I’m leaning back towards the silver bracelet.

That’s a good idea about getting something for someone else - save me money on a gift, but since this is something that I’m getting for my work over the past five years, I think I want to get something for myself. Selfish, aren’t I? :P

    Thanks for the input, Shawna!
