Pooh

For obvious reasons, I’ve always held a special place in my heart for Winnie-the-Pooh.

I just finished a book entitled, “Hungry:  Lessons Learned on the Journey from Fat to Thin,” written by a man who started at 360 pounds and then lost a great deal of weight.  I thought it was very good.

I just started a book called, “Passing For Thin:  Losing Half My Weight and Finding My Self.”  I haven’t even read the first actual page yet, but I’ve already noticed a strinking similarity between “Hungry” and this book.  They both reference the exact same excerpt from Winnie-the-Pooh by A. A. Milne.

I absolutely adore this and think it sums up perfectly how I feel about food:

“When you wake up in the morning, Pooh,” said Piglet at last, “what’s the first thing you say to yourself?”

“What’s for breakfast?” said Pooh.  “What do you say, Piglet?”

“I say, I wonder what’s going to happen exciting today?” said Piglet.

Pooh nodded thoughtfully.

“It’s the same thing,” he said.

I nod thoughtfully.  “It’s the same thing,” I say.

:P

Oh my gosh! You are my high school best friend – 32 years younger and going by a different name now, but you’re her. She also had an obsession with Pooh and was always quoting him. It was hysterical, and I loved that about her. Plus, Pooh makes so much sense. I love this quote because it’s exactly how I think too. :)

I knew I always loved Winnie-the Pooh for a reason, but it just clicked as to what! We think exactly alike! LOL
