What’s a little more debt?

July 9th, 2008 by Pamela

Argh.  So, after a $100 eye doctor bill yesterday, a $220 dentist bill today, several more medical bills coming up (routine testing, new contacts, etc.), and various and sundry other bills that tend to all crop up at once, guess who broke down and just bought concert tickets?  That would be me.  To see New Kids On The Block.  Yes.  Let the laughter commence.

They were HUGE when I was in sixth grade.  Along with every single other girl in my class, I adored them.  I think I even had the sheets at one point - in fact, they’re probably still packed away in a box somewhere.  I listened to their cassettes and watched their videos.  My heart belonged to Jordan at the time. My adult self wonders what the hell I had been thinking and finds herself leaning towards Joey.  I, of course, haven’t listened to them in about 10 years.  Their music was unavoidable in my freshman year of college as one of my friends had regressed back into her NKOTB obsession for a while.

I wanted desperately to be one of the “cool kids” that got to go see them in concert, but my mom wouldn’t let me.  I’m sure it was the cost.  So here’s my chance.  I couldn’t pass it up.  The tickets were beaucoup expensive, though!  You’d think they were Springsteen or something.  But what’s a little more debt when you’re making a little girl’s childhood dream come true?

:P

we paid $350 each to see the madonna ‘confessions’ tour from the 10th row. that is expensive. nkotb = not expensive but still a good time. and hopefully they won’t take the stage as late as madonna does.

riley says she saw them back in the day for $5 at the ohio state fair.
