Learning To Live After Losing A Person

I thought I was gonna die and other fun stuff

July 28th, 2008 by Pamela

I just did the stairs here at work for the first time in over a week.  I thought I was gonna die.  I honestly did.  For a moment, anyway.  My heart felt like it was going to beat right out of my chest and go plop right there on the stairs in front of me.  Now, isn’t that a pretty image?

I made it, though!

As far as the other fun stuff:

My department works for the entire company - anyone can bring us work.  Well, almost anyone.  There is a man that used to bring us work fairly regularly - at least once a week - but I’m pretty sure he hasn’t been in our department in a year.  At least, not when I was around.  He came in today, and as I was walking up to the counter to take his work, I noticed that he kept looking down towards my stomach area.  My first thought was, “what the hell?”  But then I realized what he was looking at.  My ID badge.  I had it hanging around my neck.  It has my name and my picture on it and serves as security access to the building.  He was probably making sure I was who he thought I was!

I’m excited about my weigh-in tomorrow!  I know it’ll be a full-on miracle if I lose (since I only have approximately 2.5 flex points left), but I was down a bit when I peeked today, so I have my fingers crossed.  And I’m really close to making my mini-goal, which I’ll share if I make it tomorrow.

The stairs are killing me too. I skipped two days of working out and went yesterday. I did the stair climber for 15 tortuous minutes. I know what you mean by your heart felt like it was going to jump out of your chest. Me too! I thought I was going to have a heart attack.

Good luck tomorrow on your weighin. I have to weigh in tomorrow too since I missed it tonight.
