Somebody scratch me…gently

July 30th, 2008 by Pamela

Please!  Even a good rub will do!

I posted a while back about a skin biopsy I had done that ended up needing to be cauterized at the hospital.  Well, I’ve kept a bandage on it up until the day before yesterday and it has now reached the “itchy” stage.

Argh! It’s driving me insane!

I’ve discovered heaven in the form of my shower, though.  The needles are just strong enough to alleviate some of the itching, but gentle enough (and without the inherent dangers found in using fingernails) not to hurt it.  Talk about pure bliss.  If I could, I would just stand there forever.

So, it appears to be healing nicely.  I finished the antibiotics today (thank God).  Unfortunately, though, it’s still ugly as hell, and I’m pretty sure the dermatofibroma is going to return.  But at least it’s not cancer.

Do you ever find bruises that you don’t have a clue as to how you got them?  I discovered a small one on my arm over the weekend that blossomed into quite the bruise.  Luckily, it’s starting to fade into that lovely shade of yellow, but I still have no idea how I got it.  It’s right above my wrist.  Knowing me, it could have been anything.  Sometimes I think if I breathe funny, I’d bruise myself.

Here’s to an injury-free day for all!

Oh Pamela, that sound so…itchy! That would drive me crazy too. Hopefully it’ll heal up soon.
