Christmas in August
I’ve so been looking forward to August for a couple of reasons.
- Sucky July will be over (2 hours and 12 minutes and counting).
- Several books that I’ve been dying to read are finally coming out!
It feels like Christmas!
On August 1, the latest book by Garth Nix, Superior Saturday, will be hitting the shelves. These books leave me saying “what the hell?” from time to time, but they’re thoroughly entertaining. This is a young adult book.
On August 2, the latest book in Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight saga comes out. It’s called Breaking Dawn. I posted recently about her book, The Host (which I absolutely adored), and I hope that this one is just as good. I’m still looking forward to seeing the movie of Twilight when it comes out in December. This is another young adult book.
Third is an actual adult book that I’ve been dying to read. It’s called Acheron, and is from Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark-Hunter series. It’s book 12, and I’ve read every single one of the first 11. They’re fantastic! But keep in mind they’re romances, so they can get a bit steamy. :) This book is the biggest yet (in the series) at 736 pages.
I also just learned that the latest book in the graphic novel series I’ve been reading came out on July 1st (where have I been). It’s Y: The Last Man, Vol. 10. I’m devastated to learn, however, that it’s the final one.
You’ve heard me mention Jim Butcher’s Dresden Files on here quite often (and I’m sure I will quite often in the future), and I go to pick up the last graphic novel/comic book in the prequel series Welcome to the Jungle on Saturday. Next, they’re going to start creating comics of the actual books. They’ll start with the first book in November, Storm Front. I can’t wait!
I feel like it’s my birthday and Christmas all rolled into one. I’ve been waiting for these books all year!
