Great day!
Today I had a mission and that mission was to buy a pair of work pants that won’t fall off of my butt.
Okay, the ones I have don’t do that either, but it’s getting pretty close, and I’m tired of living with the danger.
So today, I decided that I would buy a new pair of pants. But not only that, I decided that these pants were going to come from the ladies’ section, not the plus size section.
Due to a lack of funds from recent medical bills, I decided to hit one of the many local Wal-Marts. Jackpot!
I had so much fun wandering the ladies’ section of clothes! I felt like a little kid seeing a toy store for the first time! There were so many more racks to explore. I’ll admit, I was a little nervous. Both from wondering whether anything would fit, and from wondering if anyone would come over and say honey, you need to be down there - and pointing towards the plus sizes. Of course, I didn’t have problems with either.
I tried on a pair of size 14 pants (no W!) and got the shock of my life. They were too big! I went down to a 12 and they fit!! I couldn’t believe it. Now, I know their sizes probably run a bit big, so I don’t know where I’d be at other stores, but I’m still happy. The smallest size I ever remember wearing is a 14 and that was in elementary school. In fact, I specifically remember that pair of pants, because they were the ones I was wearing when my grandma told me I had no waist. Oh and also the pair she brought to me when I split out my pants in gym class. But we won’t talk about that. (But I want to know how come that stuff never happens when your mommy is around??)
I also found a cute shirt in my favorite color, turquoise, and enjoyed the cheaper prices!
So today is a happy day. It’s also my first day on Metformin, and so far so good. This stuff is notorious for GI side effects. I’m on the lowest dose possible to start, and I’ve had a bit of tummy rumbling, but nothing major yet. In fact, that rumbling is probably just from my nerves about starting it. I started it last night, so that I can try out different foods over the weekend to see what I can tolerate. Keep your fingers crossed. Maybe I’ll be one of the lucky ones (internally laughing at that idea).
Hope you’re all having a beautiful weekend!

Pamela, I really think that Walmart sizes run small. You’ll see once you try on other brands of clothes. I really think if that would have been me, they would have had to call 911. I would have been screaming so much from inside the dressing room that they would have swore that someone was trying to kill me!!! LOL
