Weigh-in…or welcome to the latest edition of how to gain 10 pounds in one week. Seriously. Okay, it wasn’t really 10 pounds. Just 8.2 pounds. I kid you not. I actually gained 8.2 pounds this week. I think that deserves some kind of prize or award or something. So here’s my recipe on how to do it (you know, just in case you ever go insane and want to try it for yourself):
- Don’t track anything;
- Eat out for every single meal; and
- Eat lots and lots of snacks and candy.
It’s that simple. Really.
I think I ate worse this past week than I did at my highest weight. For lunch on Saturday, we had Texas Roadhouse (and indulged on both rolls and peanuts). For dinner on Saturday, we had Pizza Hut. For lunch on Sunday, we had Jimmy John’s sandwiches for the first time. They were actually pretty good, but tons of calories. They do have a great site for calculating their nutritional information. You know, if you’re tracking that kind of thing. I, myself, was not. Then for Sunday night dinner, we had the buffet at The New Theatre. You know it’s never a good thing when the word buffet is involved. I, however, did notgo back for seconds. Then for lunch on Monday, we had my favorite pre-Weight Watchers meal. Chicken O’Tenders at O’Charleys. Complete with their honey mustard sauce, of course. I honestly think they have the best honey mustard sauce in the entire world and their rolls are pretty far up on my list of faves, too. Dinner Monday night was leftover Chicken O’Tenders. And that’s not including all of the snacks, ice cream, etc. we had. There just isn’t enough room left in cyberspace for me to list it all here.
I had planned on getting back on track today, but while I kind of half did, I splurged on dinner again. My boss took me out for dinner to Jack Stack Barbecue (yum) and instead of getting my usual (grilled chicken salad with fat free rasberry vinaigrette dressing – yum), I got the barbecue grilled chicken with fries and coleslaw. Then she had to go and tell them that it was my birthday. As if I hadn’t done enough damage already. They brought out a completely decadent chocolate cake with a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. It was delicious, but almost too rich.
The funny thing is that I’m not devastated about all of this. Life happens and life goes on. I absolutely know that I’m not going to let it go too much farther because I really don’t want to end up back where I was. I’m enjoying the weight loss too much.
I went shopping over the weekend and bought three new suits that I love. Two are skirt suits and the third is my absolute favorite and my birthday present to myself. It is a knee-length (yes, I wore something that was knee-length!) black dress with a white duster jacket with three black buttons and mock belting on each side. It’s hard to explain. Perhaps I’ll post a picture. Regardless of how I actually look in it, I adore it and feel good in it. And I actually think I caught a guy checking out my legs for the first time in…well, ever. I did get several compliments, though. The amazing thing is that I went out and ate barbecue in it and actually kept myself from spilling the barbecue on the white jacket! Miracles do happen.
It was such fun shopping for it. I’m kind of on the border of plus-size, average-size clothing, so I feel like there are so many options out there. As I was darting through the racks at Penney’s, I felt like a little kid in a candy store or toy store, not sure of what to look at next. So, all that to say, I’m nipping this little WW vacation in the bud now. I refuse to give this up. I’m having too much fun.
