10.4 Pounds

Is there anyone here that thinks I can lose 10.4 pounds by Christmas Day?  Right now, I’m thinking there’s no way.

Every year (well, every year since I joined Weight Watchers), I’ve joined in a Christmas-based challenge called “All I want for Christmas” (AIWFC) that is run by a fantastic woman named Julie.  There are lots of challenges that run on the Weight Watchers message boards, but I really like this one because there is a minimum amount of commitment needed.  All you have to do is set a goal of how many pounds you want to lose by Christmas day and e-mail Julie each week with your current weight.  She posts a thread every day with a different topic that you can post to for support, but it’s not mandatory.  Piece of cake, right?

This year, she started the challenge in March.  At that point, I had already started struggling a bit, so decided to shoot way down on the low side and shoot for 20 pounds gone by Christmas day.  That gave me a little over 9 months to lose 20 pounds.  Again, piece of cake, right?  Uh-huh.  I’ve lost 9.6 pounds since the challenge started.  I was up to 14.8 pounds lost at one point, but well, you know how that went.

So, that leaves me in my current predicament.  I have a little over two months (63 days) to lose 10.4 pounds.  I made my AIWFC goal the first year, but didn’t make it last year, so I’m thinking that I’m really going to push myself to try and make it this year.

Wish me luck!

Hey Pamela, I didn’t know you were doing the aiwfc challenge too. I set my goal at the time to lose 60 pounds and I hit the mark last weekend.

Of course, you’re almost at goal (unlike I was when I started), so it’s going to be a little bit harder, but losing 10.4 lbs. by Christmas is totally do-able. It’ll give you a reason to stay with it.

What’s your user name on WW msg board?

I think you can do it!

You have come far and know how to just count the points. I am getting myself back to losing all this weight, and I think it is good idea to have a challenge when all the parties and goodies start coming out for the holidays. I think it makes us decide what we really want, and I know I feel so good after I have turned down lots of junk (of course not in the moment)lol.

Thank you all for your support! I know I’m going to need it!

Diana, I’m so excited for you! Congratulations on hitting your challenge goal! That’s fantastic! I’ll e-mail you soon.

I think it’s interesting how we are all getting back on track at about the same time. We all must be on the same wavelength or something. Or maybe we’re like dominoes – one falls and they all fall? One gets back up and helps the others back up?
