I find it so interesting that the majority of people that I’ve heard from have similar opinions about this season of The Biggest Loser. I’ve mentioned before that I originally refused to watch the show, thinking that it was merely another new way to attempt to capitalize on and make fun of fat people. Then I finally got around to watching an episode and I was hooked. While their exercise regimen is completely unreasonable and incompatible with real life, there are a lot of great tips that get thrown out by the trainers. It’s also wonderful to hear from people who have been where I’ve been and have struggled with some of the things I’ve struggled with, both physically and emotionally. That’s why the weight loss blogging world and the WW message boards have been so wonderful. For the first time in my life I’ve felt like I wasn’t alone in the world with these issues. Regardless of the speed with which they lose their weight, they still have to struggle with the issues that caused them to gain the weight in the first place.
I think this season though has been the most snarkiest, outrageous yet. As with most people that I’ve heard from (I apologize if you disagree), Vicky, Heba, and Brady seem to be the villains this time around. I know for a fact that they are for me. I used to like Heba. In fact, if you read back through my BL archive, you’ll see several comments praising her. Lately, she’s just too petty and annoying. She’s acting like a 4th grader causing a bunch of drama. Vicky, I’ve hated since day one. I also used to think that Brady was fairly decent, too, but again, not so much anymore.
I adore Bob. He’s my favorite trainer, but he seems to keep getting these people on his team where I find myself rooting for Jillian’s team instead. I really like almost everyone that’s left other than those three. I hate finding myself wishing that someone would gain weight, but I want them gone!
As I said yesterday, my favorite comment on any show was when Bob said that Vicky was “Shakespearean.” I thought that was great.
I’ve heard from some of you – anyone have any further thoughts on this season? Who do you like? Who do you wish would be dropped in a pit of fire ants?
