About Fat Haters

I’ve posted often about the way overweight people are treated and how disgusting it can be. I just read a blog post that really struck my heart – and made my blood boil.  It wasn’t the blog post itself that made me angry (livid actually), it was in reading about the article the writer was explaining. Check it out here:  Fat Haters Many of the comments are heart-breaking, too.  Now I’m preparing my blood pressure to go off and read about Mr. Nugent’s sludge.

My Weekend Mission: Point Friendly Tuna/Pasta Salad

I’ve made a goal for myself this weekend.  Before starting Weight Watchers, one of my favorite foods was this tuna salad that my mom always made.  It contains those tiny, tiny pasta balls (ancini de pepe), tuna, Miracle Whip, and relish, and then it’s refrigerated so that it’s really cold.  YUM.  Of course, with the mayo and pasta, it’s not the most point friendly.  I’m sure that my serving sizes didn’t help the matter.  I LOVED this pasta.  Hence the fact that I haven’t dared to make it ever since. Survival

I posted (well, vented) at the beginning of October about my health insurance company and their program to deduct $20 from our monthly premiums next year.  In order to get the deduction, we had to have a health risk appraisal done (blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, height, weight, etc.) and then fill out an online risk assessment.  The third requirement was to call a telephonic health coach (supposedly a registered nurse).  I’ve ranted several times about the whole thing, and I still don’t think it’s right.  It seems like an invasion of privacy to me, but for $20 a month I [ ... ]
