Sweet Far Thing

Today, I have no one and no thing to blame but myself for my lack of exercise.  Ah, what the hell, I’m going to blame it on the book I’m reading.  I stayed up late this morning reading, which if you know anything about me, you know that that in itself isn’t all that unusual.  Usually, it is because the book is so incredibly good that I can’t stand to put it down. 10.4 Pounds

Is there anyone here that thinks I can lose 10.4 pounds by Christmas Day?  Right now, I’m thinking there’s no way. Every year (well, every year since I joined Weight Watchers), I’ve joined in a Christmas-based challenge called “All I want for Christmas” (AIWFC) that is run by a fantastic woman named Julie.  There are lots of challenges that run on the Weight Watchers message boards, but I really like this one because there is a minimum amount of commitment needed.  All you have to do is set a goal of how many pounds you want to lose by Christmas day [ ... ]

Rain, Rain, Go Away

My walk was called on account of rain today.  It’s been pouring all day.  Normally I adore the rain, but not when it interferes with my walks and when I have to drive in it.  And I wasn’t about to go for a walk in the rain.  I just don’t enjoy the rain or walking that much.  So without shedding a tear, I went back to bed.  Day two of my second week has gone well.  Except for the lack of exercise yet again. Ambrosia Apples

I’ve grown to adore apples and have been eating one every day with my lunch at work.  So far, my favorites have been Gala and Fuji, with Pink Lady and Honeycrisp as close runners-up. When I ran to the grocery store on Sunday, there was a stack of boxes near the entrance of the fruits and vegetables area.  The display was advertising a new brand of apples called Ambrosia. My New Skirt

Not only did I have an amazing weigh-in today, I also experienced a non-scale victory in the form of the new skirt I’m currently sitting in.  It’s black and falls just below my knee. I bought it over the weekend without even trying it on.  I know that I told myself I wouldn’t do that anymore, but I’ve admired the skirt for a long time and decided to break down and just get it.  I was also in a hurry, which explains why I didn’t try it on before I bought it. Weigh-In 10/21/08

Score! Actually, when I stepped on the scale today, my response was more along the lines of “holy crap!”  I know.  Such language.  But last week, I saw a gain of 4.9 pounds, so it’s understandable that I got a bit excited when I saw a loss of 5.8 pounds this week!!!  I had hoped that it would be good, but hadn’t imagined it’d be that much. Hic

No, I haven’t been drinking, but if you’d met me on Saturday, you might have thought so.  I think that that was the funniest part of the day for me.  Well, it’s funny now.  It wasn’t so incredibly funny at the time.  I had the hiccups pretty much ALL day.  It drove me insane.  Hiccups for me are not an enjoyable experience, but are they really for anyone?  Mine are alway incredibly loud and somewhat painful from the attempts at keeping them in.  Usually, I can get them to go away if I calm down and slow my breathing, and/or [ ... ]

Weekend Update

My weekend went pretty well.  I did it!  I actually stuck to my points for an entire weekend.  I think this is the first time in well over a month.  Tomorrow (Monday) is my last day of my week and it should be a piece of cake (not literally, hopefully) to get through.  Yesterday, I used six flex points, and I only used one today so far!  I might have a little snack later while I watch True Blood, but I’m going to keep it under control.  I’ll give you the full report tomorrow. Day Three = Success

Well, I was thisclose to skipping my walk and going back to bed, but I didn’t do it.  I actually kept my butt out of the sheets and went for a walk.  I walked for about 40 minutes and really pushed myself as far as intensity. I also only used 3.5 flex points today!  With my two activity points, that falls down to 1.5 flex points which is well under my five point limit.  All in all, I’d say day three is a success. My Own Personal Sitcom Moment

The one highlight of my long weekend was when my mom and I decided to spend Saturday at a local Botanical Garden.  When my mom brought up the idea, I thought it sounded like it would be a lovely area to check out and it would be the perfect opportunity to get some exercise while sightseeing.  We decided to pick up the always safe Subway for lunch and make a day of it. Weigh-In 10/14/08

I think I should officially have my name changed to the Human Yo-Yo.  Unfortunately, it’s not actually as fun as it sounds.  I’ve been in a bad, bad place the past few weeks.  I think I just reached the point where all of the things I’d been worrying about and stressing over came to a head and pretty much took over.  Okay, I have to accept responsibility in that I obviously handed over control at some point. Punishment?

I decided not to go for a walk today.  I went yesterday, but I just couldn’t do it when I woke up today.  I even got out of bed, went to the bathroom, and then went back to bed for an hour!  I know I should have just done it, especially since I was actually up and out of bed, but I just didn’t want to.  So, I didn’t. Stop the Insanity

I have lost my mind.  I posted a few days ago about how I hadn’t really been tracking everything this week, but that I had been able to avoid a binge.  As Diana already knows, that lasted for about 3 minutes after I hit the “Publish” button on my post.  I’ve been eating like crazy ALL weekend.  We’re talking everything in sight, and it’s really frightening me how often this is starting to happen again.
