I almost forgot to mention a non-scale victory that I had on Sunday. I was at Wal-Mart and had been longing for this skirt for forever, but they didn’t have it in my size – normally a 12 in skirts. They only had a 14 or a 10. I bypassed the 14 quickly as being too big (for some reason, I’ve always worn a smaller size in skirts than pants), and picked up the 10. I looked at it, laughed, and held it up against myself. My first instinct was “no way.” But then my mom said, “just try it on.”
I was actually able to get it on and zip it up! Holy crap! A 10!! I could even sit down in it without busting a seam. I always have an image of that horrible scene from Made of Honor (scene is found at 9:25) in the back of my head. Of course it wasn’t quite as loose as I’d have liked it to have been, but it wasn’t indecent or anything and didn’t look half-bad.
I’m trying to save money, so I didn’t buy it, but just trying it on was worth it. I think I glowed for several hours afterwards!

Wahoo Pamela! Size 10, holy cow girl, you are skinny. That’s so exciting and I’m so happy for you.
I’ve been debating about trying on size 10. My 12′s are getting loose and I’m down about 10 pounds from when I bought them. But I’m afraid if I try on a 10 and it’s too tight that I’ll be disappointed.
Maybe next time I’m shopping, I’ll get brave and try on a size 10.
As usual, you’ve inspired me.
Way to go Pamela!!! Size 10, yes indeed! I don’t think I ever wore a size 10. I just completely skipped over that number and sadly landed in the plus section! lol
And Diana, girl try on that size 10. If it doesn’t quite fit, don’t worry about it. You’ll get there. Just keep pushing forward.
But then again, who knows, you may just find yourself pleasantly surprised like Pamela here! ;o)
Hey, thanks, guys! It about shocked the hell out of me! I know I have a long way to go until it fits comfortably in any other clothes, but it’s encouraging!
Diana, get your butt out there this weekend and try on a size 10! Especially if your 12s are getting loose!
Skye-Lynn, I’m with you on not remembering ever wearing a size 10. It seems like I jumped from children’s sizes to a size 14. That’s the smallest size I ever remember wearing. The thing that blew my mind is that it’s only a size away from a single digit!
