Uncovering Pamela
Learning To Live After Losing A Person

Weigh-In 11/4/08

November 4th, 2008 by Pamela

Since I’m currently holding my breath while watching the election coverage, I thought this would be a good chance to update my blog.  All I have to say at this point:  Stupid Kansas People!  :o)  Said with total love, of course.

I weighed in today and once again, I’m proof that miracles can happen.  As I said, I did some pretty strenuous hiking on Saturday, but I don’t see how that could have balanced out all of the junk I ate.  I was attacked again by that fun size candy bar monster, who was also joined by that little Papa John’s Pizza! Pizza! guy.  Yum.

Somehow, incredibly, I actually lost 0.7 pounds this week!  I even weighed in an hour early because of my doctor’s appointment, so it should be higher than normal.  I don’t get it, but I’m not going to complain.

Thank you all for the support you’ve given me with my mom’s recent health scare.  You guys are the best!  She got good news from her surgeon on Monday.  The surgeon believes that the lump ”feels normal” and it most likely just a calcium deposit.  She said that my mom should keep an eye on it until her next mammogram in April.

My doctor’s appointment went decently today.  He prescribed two new medications for me.  One I had requested, so that’s good.  The other one I’m not too sure about, but I’m willing to give it a shot.  I go back in about four weeks for followup, and to make it better, he gave me samples of the medication to tide me over until that appointment so that I don’t have to pay for it.  As ever, we’ll see!  Time will tell.  I thought I was supposed to get off medication by losing weight?!  I also got a flu shot and had more blood drawn (in the same arm!).  I’m starting to feel like a pincushion for vampires.

I’ve got my fingers crossed that I stay on plan this week.  I fully intend to try!

You are hilarious! When I was preggo for Kaylee I thought I too was a pincushion for evil doctors. That is great news about your mom, I know you were very concerned. Congrats on the loss, your hike really paid off! Congrats on the election, also!
