More Stress and More Laughs
To add to my worries about my parents, my mom took their car into the shop today to check out a problem she has been having with the steering wheel. She’s home with a rental car now, and when she goes to pick up her car tomorrow it’s going to have had $2500 worth of repairs done. Don’t ask me what was wrong with it - that was my brother’s department - but it had something to do with the suspension. I don’t think I need to say that that is definitely $2500 they don’t have. The poor people just can’t catch a break. We’re supposed to go to St. Louis to celebrate Thanksgiving with my uncles next week, but that trip might be in jeopardy now. Forget Christmas. It’s a good thing we were already planning on not really exchanging gifts!
On a lighter note, has anyone seen Forgetting Sarah Marshall? When it came out, I had absolutely no desire whatsoever to see it, but my co-worker made me watch it last night. I loved it! I thought it was hilarious. And when we watched the gag reel, I laughed until I cried. I honestly think every single DVD, regardless of the genre, should have a gag/blooper reel.
The main character in the movie loves to eat HUGE bowls (like big mixing bowl size) of cereal and milk and that reminded me so much of my brother. He used to do that all of the time. I think he would go through something like two gallons of milk a week by himself. So seeing the character in the movie do that made me smile.

I’m so sorry to hear about your mom’s car. It’s always something, isn’t it? Trust me, I know how she feels. The transmission on my husband’s truck went out a couple of months ago and we’re still trying to save to get it fixed. It seems like the minute we almost have the money, something else breaks or even better, the holidays are here. Ugh!
You know, one of the best things about DVD’s is the extras that you wouldn’t have gotten from VHS’s. I love the deleted scenes, too. But, you’re right, the gag/blooper reel is the best! :o)
