Have I mentioned how thoroughly excited I am about Twilight opening this weekend? I know, I know. NKOTB last week and now Twilight this weekend. You’d think I was 12 years old or something. But I have read the books and they were extremely good. The last book in the series, Breaking Dawn, was my favorite. I think I’ll probably go see the movie on Sunday.
Last weekend, I decided to reacquaint myself with my childhood home away from home and visited one of the local libraries. Their selection of DVDs has increased significantly since the last time I was in there. And they’re totally free to rent – how can you beat that? I used to rent stacks and stacks of books and VHS tapes from there when I was younger.
The only movie I rented this trip was the movie Stardust. I had seen multiple previews for it, but had always been on the line about whether I thought it looked good or not. I love fantasy type movies, but this one looked like it had the potential of being kind of stupid. I was so wrong! I found myself really enjoying it. It was romantic and sweet and adventurous and a bit funny. You can’t beat seeing a dashing hero:
Or seeing Robert DeNiro looking like this:

wow – you utilized the library. i’m speechless. seriously. of course, that could be because i’m watching ‘zombie strippers’ muah
Zombie Strippers?!? Only you!
You think that’s something? The other movie we have right now is gonna be even better – Ninja Cheerleaders!
OMG. As I said, ONLY you guys. Dare I ask where you’re finding these little gems?
Netflix Baby…
Actually, Netflix recommended them to us. We’re not sure why. We really weren’t selecting THOSE kinds of movies. For instance, the same time that we got Zombie Strippers! we also got Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day. Which, by the way, I highly recommend for you. I would have to say that it is Frances McDormand’s finest role ever, even over Fargo, which is saying something. And it has Lee Pace in it. You like him don’t you? And Amy Adams. She’s good enough in it. So, yeah, see it. It made me smiles.
Uh-huh. Apparently Netflix knows you both very well.
It’s so funny that you brought up Miss Pettigrew, because I actually watched it the night before you posted your comment! I really loved it! And yeah, having Lee Pace in it didn’t hurt matters. It was really charming, though, and made me smile, too!
