Baby, It’s Cold Outside – Thank God

I don’t know about you all, but I am ecstatically, enthusiastically ready for it to be Friday.  Work has been one series of stressful/frustrating situations after another lately, so I’m ready for another day off.  Thank God for the upcoming holidays.  I honestly can’t (i.e., shouldn’t) complain though since I actually do have a job, and I am very grateful for that fact.

To change the subject, I am one of the softest hearted people around when it comes to animals.  I admit it.  I also admit that while I am normally strongly opposed to any kind of shock collar for dogs (such as the ones they put on them to keep them from barking), I am about thisclose to planning a midnight escapade into my neighbor’s yard to attach one to their dog.

Oh. My. God.

The thing is about to drive me insane.

Of course, I would never ever in a million years actually do something so heinous, but don’t think the thought hasn’t crossed my mind.  That dog barks ALL day long – while I’m trying to sleep, of course.  It barks when I leave for work, and it barks when I come home from work.  Have I mentioned that I come home in the middle of the night, so aforesaid barking ends up waking my mom up – along with probably the entire neighborhood.

So that is why I have been so grateful for it being below freezing the past couple of nights.  The dog has been inside when I got home.  No barking.  Hallelujah!  He’s still out there when I leave though and then it’s “yap, yap, yap, yap, yap.”  Oh and “yap, yap, yap, yap, yap…………………”  I actually stared him down today as I walked to my car and he actually turned tail and ran off.  Who knew I was that scary?

Since it’s been so cold, I’ve been keeping myself inside as much as possible – needless to say I haven’t been walking every day as I had been.  I don’t know how you people do it that are like me and don’t have gym memberships.  Do you still walk outside this time of year or just work out inside your home?  I really, really, really, really, really wish I had the room for a treadmill.

But I’ll share my latest computer addiction with you all:

I think my best score so far has been about 3.89 – I don’t remember for sure though since I’m not on that computer.  Have fun!  It’s addicting!

Update:  I just got 3.61.  See, addicting!

Happy Friday Pamela! This has been a crazy week at work for me, so I’m glad it’s finally Friday too!

I can totally sympathize with you about the barking dog! One of my former neighbors had a dog that barked 24/7 and it drove us nuts!!!

I find it really hard to get moving when it’s cold outside too. I have a gym membership so I can use the treadmill inside, so I definitely applaud you for walking outside when it gets cold! I can barely stand the walk through the parking lot when it gets freezing :) I hope you have a great weekend!!

    Ooh, I hate yappy dogs!

Note to self: Do not check out that link. You know how obsessive you get… You’ve got lots on your plate right now.
