“Stinkin Thinkin”

Man, I’m just on a roll this weekend – I apparently can’t get myself to shut up!

I just had to give a big shout-out to Katschi (Karen) and share a statement she wrote in her most recent post.

Being obese is more about stinkin thinkin issues than having too much cake, anyway.

As I told her, I think this is the best line I’ve read lately in summing up our weight loss struggles.

I’ve heard that for a lot of people who have never had weight problems or struggled with their weight that they just don’t get it.  To them, it’s just a matter of “just don’t do it.”  Just don’t eat it.  If only it was that easy.

I know that I’d still be sabotaging my efforts if I hadn’t taken the time to sort out some emotional problems! It’s only slightly about the food…

It’s all in the mind – conquer it and you conquer the weight issues. For me it’s a never ending battle. :-)

    Great work Pamela!

I know for me I wouldn’t be where I am now without the therapy. I’ve always known it was my head causing my weight issues.

I, too, totally agree that it’s about the “stinkin thinkin” issues. Every single one of us know exactly how to lose weight. The thinkin just gets in the way of the implementation. BTW, interesting cous cous concoction. It looks pretty good. I’m going to check for the whole wheat cous cous next time I’m in Whole Foods.

Yes, Karen really nailed it with that phrase. There is so much more to the journey than the science of eating less and moving more.

Your progress is really an inspiration! You look like a different person! It’s so refreshing to see someone so dedicated.

and if only ANYTHING were that easy huh?

my husband used to be that way with regards to weight (just put down the twinkie) until HE began HIS struggle.

    he quickly changed his tune.

    xo xo,
    Miz.

You’re so right. If only it was!

I had to get a grip on my mind and some bad thinking patterns/habits before I could stop eating self-destructively.

I really hate the “don’t eat chips and go for a walk everyday” attitude, as well. Not helpful, oversimplistic, annoying advice.
