Anyone who has read any of my posts for a while knows that I adore cheese. Just about every kind of cheese. I could eat cheese morning, noon, and night (and every hour in between).
In discussing the weather the other day, Shawna mentioned this little gem of a story to me and my response? “Be still my heart.”

I just wanted to say thank you to all of you who sent good wishes my family’s way. I certainly appreciate them! My dad seems to be doing much better today, thank God!
I think one of the reasons I got so scared last night is because he was put into intensive care twice while I was in college. I lived in another state and was told both times over the phone. They didn’t know if he was going to make it. Both times, my mom came home to find him having seizures that he wouldn’t come out of and his [ ... ]

Well, our week just got better. Of course, if I was talking to you in person, you’d be able to hear the sarcasm in my voice. The sarcasm and the fear.
At about 10:30 tonight, my phone at work rang and when I looked at the caller ID, my heart immediately sank into my feet. It was my mom’s cell phone.
My mom is usually in bed by 7 or 8 pm.
My mom hates to call my work number because she has to go through an automated system.
If she was calling that late, she’d call from home.

One week back on plan and I lost 2.6 pounds! Whoohoo! I’m back down in the 180s – 188.1 to be exact.
I’m technically supposed to be at 24 points, but WW online allows you to adjust your points by plus or minus 3 points. After the last couple of months, I knew that there was no way that I would stay on plan at 24 points, so I adjusted it this week to 27 points a day. I finished the week with 3.5 flex points left over. And I would say that it was a success! Since I lost, I [ ... ]

Yes, I’m counting again! Whoohoo! I have now counted everything that has crossed my lips since Tuesday morning at 12:00 a.m. I almost gave up on Wednesday when my points starting going higher and higher, but I didn’t! I counted it all and hit 40.5 for the day (not quite the 80 mentioned above, thank God). But, I still have 16 flex points left for the week.
I was also so insanely busy at work last night (it was hell, don’t ask), that I didn’t get to eat all of the dinner that I took. I just updated my points tracker [ ... ]

Through the fog of my fatigue, I’ve slowly been trying to catch up on some blog-reading – I know I’m way, way behind. And while I care about each and every one of you, I just haven’t had the energy to keep up lately. I’m trying to get caught up, though, because I want hear all about what each of you have been up to. I just got done watching the season premiere of The Biggest Loser and can tell that it’s going to be a good season. Having started at an extremely high weight myself, I am relieved to see so many larger-sized contestants, especially larger women. I will find it interesting to see how they respond to life on the ranch and will wonder if that is how I would have responded. My heart simply breaks for these people. They have so much more courage than I. I would never have been able to stand up there for critique the way they did. [ ... ]

Wow, it almost hurt to write the 09 in the date in the subject line. To state something you’ve probably already heard a gazillion times since last week: It’s so hard to believe it’s 2009 already. Which, by the way, reminds me that I forgot to wish you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope your year has gotten off to a great start.

Not that I would ever call myself mighty, but I have certainly fallen. I will not, however, become victim to that old saying, “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up.” I will get myself back up. I will get myself back on track.
