Along with Pamela, Pam, or any other number of nicknames (which I, of course, will not list here), I will now answer to the name “The Count.” (I do see somewhat of a resemblance…)
I have gotten so far off plan that I shudder in thought of weigh-in tomorrow. Heck, I may even skip it, because today is a new day (to use a well over-used cliche), and I’m forgetting about the past. Well, the last few weeks anyway.
Party’s over. Enough’s enough. Though I’ve been trying, it’s just not physically possible for me to eat all of the pizza and chocolate within the midwest. I gave it my best shot, though. Rebellion’s over. It’s back to the grind, but with trying to make the grind not so grind-y. I’ve slipped. I’ve fallen. It’s time to get back up.
So henceforth, I will now force myself to count….like the count. Every last thing I eat…like I used to. I can do this. I’ve proven that I can do this. I’m not going to let all of my success slip through my fingers.
So from this moment on, I’m going to work to find a balance between Miss. Military (“you can’t eat that”) Pam and Miss. Party-It-Up/You Only Live Once (“oh, go ahead and eat it”) Pam.
Luckily, I’ve found a new addiction in navel oranges to help aid the way…

Go Pam! I love it! and I will join you. February was an awful month for me, on the scale and in life. I am so glad it’s over. So, I am going to be the Count in March. not just calories/points but also laps, activity points, etc.
You are right. We cannot let all of our success slip right through our fingers. Our old selves are memories. And we are almost to our goals — we can DO it!

(lost 105 pounds, have gained back 15)
Hey Pam,
I probably won’t like what I see at a WI when I get home either…

Welcome aboard, Karen! You’re right. We can do it! And congratulations on your success!
Ron, at least you have a good excuse!!
) I really hope you’re having fun since I’m living vicariously through you!
mmmm….navel oranges…delish!
Good on ya for dusting yourself off and hopping back on the horse hon!
Funny, I just ate…a navel orange!
Pam, you have a great attitude…and so much success…I DO think finding a good balance will help you stay on track. It’s tough. I like to think I’m ALLOWED to eat anything I want…but I have to be very careful with that. I rebel against denial…lol.
Hang in there with us!

I was off plan last week and gained over 3 pounds and was off again this week and probably gained as much again. But I will force myself to go weigh in, because when you dread going is when you need it the most (or so my leader tells me.) I’m back to journaling as of yesterday.
Gaining weight is so not worth the food. I try not to be too hard on myself because I realize that this is an addiction I will fight the rest of my life. But DARNIT!! Why does it have to be so hard?
Good luck to you, Count!

Ooh. I want to be in the Count Club too! One … ah ah ah ah! Two … ah ah ah ah! Seriously. We’re in the same boat, and counting feels good today. Glad you’re back and feeling better.

Pam, I’m SO there with you!!! The wagon I fell off of in December just keeps running over me!! I did manage to get back on the treadmill 3 days last week and once this week, but my eating has been ATROCIOUS!!!. I’m still about 20lbs down from my highest weight last year, but about 15lbs up from my lowest (and I still have about 120lbs to lose from there). I’m great during the day, but as soon as 7-8PM hits I try to eat everything in sight. Plus my TOM just reeks havoc on my weight every month. As much as I hate to see others struggling, it’s also a relief to know I’m not alone.
BTW, you haven’t done any Biggest Loser updates lately, what do you think of the new season? This season is SO much more pleasant to watch than last season.
Your sense of humor is refreshing.
Good for you to put the brakes on the rebellion before it gets the best of you!
You will find that balance, I’m sure!

I once saw a story on one of the newest wave of obesitainment documentary-like programs about a morbidly obese man who ate nothing but oranges, all day, every day. Like 75 or more of them. I like oranges and all, but in my head eating an entire case of oranges each day would have the side effect of giving you the complexion of an oompa loompa, don’t you think? So much for that ‘no one got fat eating fruit’ thing…
The whole balance thing is so precarious in nature, isn’t it? I think the reason that weight loss is often so fleeting is that the balance that comes so naturally to so many people is something that we have to work really, really hard to achieve. It can be exhausting, can’t it?
You can do it, Pam if anyone can.
