Well, I made it through the weekend, but I am tipping towards the wrong side of exhaustion here. At least things seem somewhat quiet at work tonight.
Overall, the weekend went pretty well. I had an awesome time on Saturday and yesterday turned out okay, too. My grandma got bored sitting at her apartment, so ended up going to the party location early. Needless to say that killed the surprise a bit. Things were a bit dull at first, but it got better. It always helps to have 1-2 year old kids around for entertainment. They’re my cousins’ kids and are so freaking adorable!
I haven’t had tremendous amounts of experience around kids in my life, so I’m always a bit nervous around them at first. I did babysit a bit when I was younger, but that was what? 20 years ago? Of course, by the time that the kids and I warm up to each other, it’s about time for one of us to leave. I do love kids though and still hope to have some of my own some day.
Unfortunately, because of the insanity of the weekend, I didn’t have time to get any of my typical weekend errand-running done. I wasn’t even able to get my grocery shopping done. Of course, the change in my sleep schedule didn’t help much.
So next weekend, I am looking forward to doing nothing but hiking and vegging out – once all of my errands are done.
Now, as far as tomorrow’s weigh in is concerned, I will be extremely surprised if I don’t show about a gazillion pound gain. We had enchiladas and tacos on Saturday and then finger foods and steaks yesterday. Not to mention the birthday cake! It was a pretty small piece that I had, though, and I left quite a bit of frosting on my plate. I’m more of a cake person than a frosting person anyway. How ’bout you?

Kids are always fun!!
As for cake give me the icing and keep the cake

Hopefully you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the scale tomorrow. I agree with Suzanne that I’d rather have the frosting. But really and truly, I’d rather have chips and dips and skip the desserts.

My cousin was just like you guys. She ate the frosting and left the cake on her plate. I have to admit it was pretty yummy – I think it was a cheesecake frosting.
Sherre, I’m like that sometimes, too!
I love a good frosting and will eat it out of the bowl, but when it is on a good cake, give me both! LOL. Unless it is a store bought cake – then the frosting is too sweet. (and usually the cake is not good either)
Sounds like you had a great weekend, Pam!
