Time to Unclick

I was at Blockbuster one day a couple of months ago and was digging through their previously viewed DVDs hoping to discover a gem.  I came across the entire first season of “How I Met Your Mother” for only $10.  I had heard people rave about this show many, many times, so I decided to grab such a great deal. A couple of days later, a couple of my coworkers were raving about Barney on “How I Met Your Mother” and how funny he was.  So, I thought, I need to get around to watching an episode. It’s now a couple of months [ ... ]

Weigh-In 5/28/09

We’re actually going to skip right over my weigh-in for this week, because it really isn’t worth mentioning (yes, it was that bad). So instead, this is going to be another mish-mash of things that I’ve been doing or things that have been happening to me over the past week. Last Saturday, I had a neat experience at the gardens I love.  My mom and I were just walking along and saw that a woman and her young daughter were walking towards us.  I heard the woman say something like “she will love that you picked that for her.”  As we passed, [ ... ]

Time for my next vacation yet?

Thanks again to all who checked out my post about my trip.  I think I’m still riding a high from it and still get all giddy thinking about some of the things I did.  I’m so ready to go back.  While there’s nothing better than getting home after a long trip, I wish I could just spend one week out of every month at home and spend the rest of the time traveling and sight-seeing.   Free of charge, of course.  Wouldn’t that be great?!  Yes, I do like to live in my own little dream-world from time to time. I really [ ... ]

California Trip

I’m back from my trip!  Okay, technically I’ve been back since about 1 a.m. last Friday morning, but I’ve been trying to get myself back in the swing of things.  I’m up 3 pounds from my weigh-in of two weeks ago, but considering I was out of town on vacation for a week, that’s not too bad.  And actually, I can’t even really use that as an excuse, because I think I gained all three of those pounds over this past weekend.  I had an absolutely wonderful time in California and I really fell in love with it.  [ ... ]

Up, Up, and Away

Hi all!  This is going to be pretty short again as I actually should be in bed by now.  I have to get up in a little over six hours to head to the airport.  Tomorrow’s the day I go to California for the first time.  I won’t be back until next Thursday, and probably won’t get to post too much before then. I hope everyone has a truly wonderful week!  Wish me luck (you know airports, etc…)

Embonpoint

Just a quicky tonight.  I’m taking a break from the Excel project from hell.  Imagine 170,000+ rows spread over four worksheets. My company’s intranet has a “Word of the Day” definition on its homepage.  Today’s word and definition was this: embonpoint \ahng-bohng-PWANG (the “ng” is never pronounced, but the vowels are nasalized)\noun : plumpness of person : stoutness You learn something new every day.  I was embonpoint all these years and didn’t know it.

Weekend Pics

I forgot to mention in my earlier weigh-in post that my mom and I went walking on both Saturday and Sunday.  On Sunday, I took some more pictures with my phone and thought I would share them with you all.  (I know a few of you have already seen them, so bear with me!) It truly amazes me how much the wildlife can change in a week’s time.  Everything gets so much greener and more grown. Our favorite place has a kids area that we don’t often check out, but this time we did and saw a new addition.  It was this kiddie [ ... ]

Weigh-In 5/5/09

According to Weight Watchers, I was technically supposed to have only 26 points this past week.  In trying to get myself back on track, I bumped it up to 29 every day.  I also had the 35 flex points, of course. I ate out three times over the weekend.  Four, actually, if you count leftovers.  On Saturday, we went to Burger King and Taco Bell.  On Sunday, we celebrated Mother’s Day and went to a family restaurant that specializes in fried chicken.  I got a house salad with fat free ranch on the side, helped my mom eat some fried cauliflower [ ... ]

WW Mobile

I hope everyone is having a good weekend.  Mine has been pretty decent.  Yesterday, I got up early and went walking with my mom at our favorite place.  It was too muddy to do the hiking trails, but there are plenty of concrete walkways to trudge along.  Then we ran errands and did some shopping. I’m still on the hunt for jeans.  I’m telling you, it’s a sad sad world when the only place that I’m able to find jeans that somewhat fit are at Wal-Mart.  Everywhere else I’m in-between sizes.  One size is way too small, the next size is [ ... ]
