WW Mobile

I hope everyone is having a good weekend.  Mine has been pretty decent.  Yesterday, I got up early and went walking with my mom at our favorite place.  It was too muddy to do the hiking trails, but there are plenty of concrete walkways to trudge along.  Then we ran errands and did some shopping.

I’m still on the hunt for jeans.  I’m telling you, it’s a sad sad world when the only place that I’m able to find jeans that somewhat fit are at Wal-Mart.  Everywhere else I’m in-between sizes.  One size is way too small, the next size is way too big.  I even checked Old Navy yesterday.  I do have to say that it’s a wonderful feeling to be able to go into a store like that and not have to head straight for the biggest size.  Of course, it’s also wonderful to be able to go in there and actually imagine that something might fit!

I then took a nap for about an hour and then got up and did some more errand running.

This morning, I woke up at 3:30 am!  I’ve been up ever since (it’s now about 6:45).  I know I’m going to be dragging later, but I just couldn’t sleep.  I’m thinking about cutting/trimming my hair this morning.  It’s trimmed into layers right now, but is getting way too long.  It’s almost halfway down my back now.  After that, I think my mom and I are going walking again and then to the mall.  I absolutely hate the mall (too many people), but want to go to Lane Bryant and the new Barnes and Noble they put in there.

The best part is that I’m still completely on plan.  Shocker, I know!  Almost a whole week now!  I even ate out twice yesterday and was able to stick to it.  We had Burger King for lunch and Taco Bell for dinner (a la “fresco style”).  So healthy, I know, but that was what my mom wanted.  That’s what I love about Weight Watchers – that I’m able to do that without freaking out.

I discovered a new little program that really helped that process.  It’s Weight Watchers Mobile.  A couple of years ago, I got a Palm Pilot and signed up for their Weight Watchers On-the-Go program which costed an extra $5 every month on top of my online subscription.  Since it was on a Palm, it was kind of a pain in the you-know-what, because it had to be synchronized so often or it would lock you out.  I eventually realized that I wasn’t really using it and cancelled the service.  I figured it was a waste of money.

But I was browing the website the other day and discovered Weight Watchers Mobile for cell phones.  The best thing about it is that it is free – well, included in your online or e-tools membership.  Since I’m an online member, I have access to it.  All you do is go to http://mobile.weightwatchers.com on your cell phone browser.  It’ll show you the details for the current day – how many points you’ve used, how many flex/activity points you’ve used, etc.  You can also see the details about the foods you’ve entered and go back to the previous day or forward to the next.

It also has a food points calculator and an activity points calculator, and then allows you to add it to the day’s total.  It’s extremely easy to use.  I love having the points calculator right there.  It will make it so easy in stores, because I won’t have to carry an extra gadget with me (my palm, a points calculator, etc.) or try to calculate it in my head which is what I usually just do.  You can also search for foods already in the database, as well as for foods at restaurants (which is what I used yesterday).

When I got home, I immediately went online and pulled up my tracker and all of the foods and even the activity points that I added were in there.  No extra synching!

I’m beginning to wonder how I ever lived without my Blackberry.  At least, it’s making my life a whole hell of a lot easier.  I blame Carlos for making me an addict!  It was his recommendation that tipped me over the edge into getting it!  Thanks, Carlos!

Now, I’m going to go hop in the shower.  We’re celebrating Mother’s Day today since I was a dumbass when I made my plane reservations for next weekend and didn’t realize I was going to be gone on Mother’s Day.  I suck.
