Time for my next vacation yet?

Thanks again to all who checked out my post about my trip.  I think I’m still riding a high from it and still get all giddy thinking about some of the things I did.  I’m so ready to go back.  While there’s nothing better than getting home after a long trip, I wish I could just spend one week out of every month at home and spend the rest of the time traveling and sight-seeing.   Free of charge, of course.  Wouldn’t that be great?!  Yes, I do like to live in my own little dream-world from time to time.

I really do think that I’m going to plan another trip out to California.  Maybe early next year.  What I’d really like to do is to start at the top of the state and work my way down to San Diego, stopping at anything that looks interesting along the way.  Wouldn’t that be great?  I think I’d need about a month, though.  And if I took over 1200 pictures (no exaggeration) and videos on this trip, imagine how many I would take if I did that!

Over the past year or so, I’ve been trying to explore a bit of my own city more and more.  I’ve lived in KC for about 25 out of my 31 years of life and there are so many things that I’ve never checked out.  And while I’ve gradually made some progress on it, there’s still so much to see.  This trip has really made me want to branch out a bit to make my own life here a bit more interesting.

I’m the kind of person that really loves life and sees all of the possibilities that it holds.  Truly, there are so many exciting things to discover and adventures to have.  Unfortunately, I sometimes tend to get overwhelmed by the massive quantity of those possibilities and end up doing nothing at all – which is just as bad, if not worse, than not being able to see the possibilities at all.

Ironically, having said that, my parents are leaving to visit family in Nebraska tomorrow and I’ve decided to stay home since I really don’t have the vacation time to spare. I hope they have a safe trip, though.  Meanwhile, I will enjoy having the house to myself.  :)

PS – I need to track down the people that created Haagen-Dazs.  Seriously.  I’ve never tasted such delicious ice cream as their chocolate flavor.  And I also need to smack myself upside the head for trying it for the first time over the weekend!  I do like that their ingredient list is extremely short (only five items) and free of artificial stuff.

Ah yes. A good, premium ice cream is a nice treat now and then. But yeah, too addictive. I finally bought an ice cream maker so I can do fresh fruit ices and frozen yogurts for myself. Yummy!
