Happy Friday!

Hi everyone!  Just a quick post tonight as I’m on break at work. I know!  Two posts in one week! Can you believe it?!

First, a sincere thank you to everyone who sent such wonderful comments and messages.  It was a much warmer welcome back than I could ever have imagined or hoped for.  You all are wonderful and I probably would have given up long ago if it hadn’t been for you!  Many of you had me in tears (the good kind).   I’ll admit I was a bit nervous about posting again.

Also, a HUGE thank you to my friend, Diana!  She’s amazing, and I’m sure all of you know her by now, but if not, “run over” and check her out!

As for an update, I did fantastically well on Thursday.  Not so great today.  It got started just fine, and is ending just fine, but somewhere in the middle, I got lost.  Ah, well.  Tomorrow is a new day, and tomorrow is almost here!  I work/eat odd hours, so am having dinner right now (it’s about 9:30 pm my time).  Whole wheat couscous mixed with veggies, grilled chicken, and an orange.  Yum.

My immediate goals right now are:

  • To get through the weekend within my points.
  • To drink more water – I’ve been slacking lately.  And since I’m still not drinking anything other than water, milk, and sometimes a little fruit juice, I know I’m not getting nearly enough fluids.

I had an incident with my knee earlier in the week, but it’s feeling much better now, so I hope to go for a walk tomorrow.  I know it’s going to be freezing and a bit snowy (as it’s been flurrying off and on all day), but the fresh air will do me good.

My mom also wants to go to the movies this weekend.  She’s voting for either “It’s Complicated,” or “Up in the Air.”  I wouldn’t mind seeing either, but am not feeling much in the mood for going to the movies this weekend for some reason.  There are quite a few out there that I want to see, though.  A friend of mine keeps recommending “The Book of Eli.”

Two weekends ago, we went to see “Avatar” (in 3D, of course), and “Leap Year.”  I HIGHLY recommend “Avatar” if you haven’t seen it yet.  I LOVED IT!  I thought it was absolutely stunning and would love to see it again.  My mom went with me and even though she had absolutely no desire to really see it (aren’t moms great?), she left having really enjoyed it.  There were multiple moments when the 3D got to me, because I wanted to just reach out and punch a couple of the characters and then realized I couldn’t.  ;)   Of course, my brother always jokingly called me a “tree hugging hippy,” so that might have something to do with it.

“Leap Year” was just fun.  Don’t go into it expecting some profound statement on life or a huge twist/surprising ending and you’ll be fine.  Of course, I’m a sucker for that cheesy romantic crap.  (Proof:  I loved “Made of Honor.“)  Plus, I’m obsessed with the thought of going to Ireland.  So when you combine the two, you have a match made in heaven in my book.  “It was cute,” was how I described it.

So what are you guys up to this weekend? Have you seen any good movies lately?  Have you seen any of the ones I’ve mentioned?  If so, what’d you think?

Great goals for the week….. Glad to see you back, I swear blogging is the main thing that keeps me at this. I have gained a bit myself, exercise has been going good, eating not so good, but I am changing that!

Hi Pamela. You sound good! And your goals are achievable. I’m sure drinking more will have a good effect.

I haven’t seen any films in a long time I’m afraid, but I hope you enjoy whatever you get to see this weekend.

I really liked Leap Year and I loved Up in the Air. I was not a fan of Avatar.

Sounds like the snow was more gentle to you up north than it was just a couple hours to the south. We got blasted (well, at least by Arkansas standards).

Hang in there! You can do it girl!!
