Francesca, that IS crazy about your goal weight! I think you hit the nail on the head when you mention finding a weight that you are happy with. When I saw my doctor when I was about 180, I asked her at what weight I should stop. I told her that WW said I should be around 153 or so. She looked at me like I was freaking nuts and then told me that I also probably had at least 10 pounds of loose skin. She didn’t want me to go lower than 170. I hope you’ll consult your doctor for a more reasonable goal weight for yourself!

And oh yes, I remember the “tub of lard” comments myself. And how could I forget “thunder thighs”? ;o)

This is such a moving post. I too have mixed feelings about the general burgeoning of the country. I hate that big kids feel different and get teased. I wish we could fix it by removing every last moral judgement related to weight– if it could just be a fact about someone like red hair or freckles.
