Younger Self

I just read a post over at We Are the Real Deal asking what we would tell our younger selves.

Back on November 14, 2008, I posted “Talking to My Younger Self.”  Click on the link to read it.

I have to say that rereading that tonight was really an eye opener.  And kind of sad, too, to see how far I’ve slipped.  Like the person who posted the article over at the “Real Deal” site, I would also have to tell my younger self to make sure and stand up for herself.

Now, I would have a few extra things to say to the me that wrote that post from 2008.  Don’t give up on yourself.  Don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it.  Don’t hide.  You’ve got people both in the “real world” and in blogland that are willing to support you.  You’ll continue to lose weight for a few more months, but then things are going to get hairy.  But never, ever give up on yourself.  Things will get rough, but you’ll bounce back.  You’ve learned a lot from your experience, and there’s always room to learn more.  Don’t be afraid to be the person you were meant to be.  You are amazing!  (LOL nothing wrong with a little self pep talk, now is there?)

To finish on an incredibly uplifting note, have you guys seen this?  I must have been hiding under a rock, because it’s from last year, but I think it has to be just about the coolest thing I’ve seen all year.  I found this over at Wide Open Spaces.  But based on the grins on the faces of those in the audience, just think of how many days they brightened!
