A while back, I went through an “obsessed with Shia LaBeouf’s acting” stage and saw the movie “Disturbia” an obscene number of times in the theater. I bought the soundtrack and for the most part, I adored it. It introduced me to some bands that I’d never heard before. One of them became one of my favorites: This World Fair.
I eagerly anticipated the release of their new album a couple of years ago. The release date seemed set according to a friend that worked in the industry, and I was thoroughly excited. I fell in love with almost every song they released. And then the inevitable happened. The band lost a member…and eventually broke up. The lead singer, Chris Kalgren, attempted to make a solo go of keeping the band alive, but he posted today on Facebook that he has decided to move on to other things.
So today, I mourn the passing of one of my favorite bands (who I never got to see live) by sharing with you some of their songs.
The song from the movie “Disturbia” that got me started: “Don’t Make Me Wait”:
Love, love the song “Plastic Soul”:
I think the song “San Francisco” is just beautiful:
Also love the song “This Morning,” too:
I wasn’t able to find a YouTube link for one of my favorite songs of theirs, “Drama,” but you can a hear a portion of it, along with some of their other songs here.

Enjoyed the music. That sucks they are gone.
