For as long as I remember, I’ve been a daughter of the night (minus the fangs). I’ve always loved the night and everything about it.
When I was in high school, I would come home from school and take a nap. I’d then get back up later and either go hang out with friends or start on homework and watch Star Trek: The Next Generation, followed by Roseanne and Golden Girls (yes, I’ve always been a nerd). Regardless of the plans, I would end up staying up until crazy hours – usually 1am or so.

I am finally blackberry-less! WHOOHOO! Don’t get me wrong. I don’t have anything against Blackberry, and I may get another one at some point in the future – you never know – but the one that I owned was getting on my very last nerve. Issues out the whazoo.
Sometimes, I think fate is a distinct possibility.

Okay, this is going to be a short one – especially since I am aware that most of you have lives and are probably out partying it up on your lovely Friday evening.
I have two non-scale victories to share with you!
First, today is my fifth day completely and I mean COMPLETELY chocolate free. Yes, I heard that collective “WTF?!” ME! Of course, part of it might have had to do with the fact that I’ve been sick the past two days (though I’m much much better now), but that doesn’t explain the days prior to those days. I always find it interesting to see how people find my site or hear about it. Sometimes, if I think about it, I’ll look at the stats, and I’m always interested to see what people are searching for most that lead them to my site. Hi again! as a follow-up to my last post, I just discovered that “Lbs.” will be showing in Fort Lauderdale, FL on July 25th at the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLIFF). It will be held at Cinema Paradiso and it looks like both Carmine Famiglietti and Michael Aranov will be in attendance for a Q&A session after the show. Check out more details here.

Hi all! It’s been a while since I’ve sent out an update on “Lbs.” movie openings. It was announced today that it will be opening in Phoenixville, PA (about 30 miles outside of Philadelphia) on July 12th. It will be running through Thursday the 15th. As the perfect bookend to the cheese fest that was my post of yesterday, I had my weigh in today. And, um, I somehow, unbelievably, incredibly, lost 5.8 pounds! I think I just heard a collective “huh”?!?! I certainly know there was one from my neck of the woods earlier today.
I know I mentioned yesterday that my weekend involved Domino’s pizza and Krispy Kreme donuts (yes plural). It also involved my mom’s yummy sausage/egg breakfast casserole, among other delicious items. So it’s all even more baffling to me. But I’ll take it.

So did everybody have a good weekend? Mine was pretty great all in all. My aunt and uncle came into town on Friday, and we spent most of the weekend watching movies, playing cards (our family fave is a variation of “Oh Hell”), and other games. I absolutely love playing cards and games, but rarely ever get to, so that was a real treat.
On Sunday, we went back to the botanical gardens here – I’ve mentioned it many times on here as it has been one of my favorite places in Kansas City. Unfortunately, this was our first trip since [ ... ]

Hi everyone! This is going to be just a quick post, since I should technically be in bed right now. We got good news at work this afternoon, that my company is going to be closing early tomorrow. WHOOHOO! My boss is also letting myself and another co-worker go in early, so we’ll get off even earlier. So I have to be at work by 1pm, which is about three hours earlier than usual. Hence the fact that I should be in bed.
But when have you ever known me to be in bed when I should be?
