Weigh In 5/25/10 & The Biggest Loser Finale

Hi all! Sadly, as I suspected, I was up 4.9 lbs this week.  I mean, imagine that – gaining 4.9 lbs in three days.  Imagine what you’d have to eat to do that.  And that’s what I did.  I undid three weeks worth of work.  But hey, I admitted it, and I’ve been back on track for two full days now. I’m absolutely loving your responses to my “Getting to Know You” post!  It’s so great to learn more about you guys, and Early was definitely right.  What a diverse group of people we’ve got here!  When I started this, [ ... ]

Weigh In & The Biggest Loser

Hi all! Just a quick post tonight.  I was down 2.8 on the scale today, but since I was up way more than that last week, I don’t really feel like it’s much of a success.  I’m going to just keep plodding along. Anyone watching “The Biggest Loser”?  Are you watching tonight?  No spoilers since they showed this on the preview, but O’Neil about broke my heart tonight when he was struggling with losing his brother.  I’ve been there.  I know what he’s going through, and seriously, I almost couldn’t watch.  I wish I could give him a hug. And I love Daris!!

Biggest Loser

Unfortunately, my left temple is going “thump, thump, thump, thump” right now.  So if any of my forthcoming comments make no sense – that’s my excuse.  As to my excuse on any other day, I’m still trying to come up with one. First, I just called and checked in with my dad about 1/2 hr ago and so far so good.  You know, unless he’s lying to me.  But he answered and sounded coherent, so I’m taking that as a good sign. I feel so bad for lying to my mom.  I called her on my way to work to see what [ ... ]

Weigh-In 5/5/09

According to Weight Watchers, I was technically supposed to have only 26 points this past week.  In trying to get myself back on track, I bumped it up to 29 every day.  I also had the 35 flex points, of course. I ate out three times over the weekend.  Four, actually, if you count leftovers.  On Saturday, we went to Burger King and Taco Bell.  On Sunday, we celebrated Mother’s Day and went to a family restaurant that specializes in fried chicken.  I got a house salad with fat free ranch on the side, helped my mom eat some fried cauliflower [ ... ]

Weigh-In and BL 4/14/09

Okay, unfortunately, I was up another couple of pounds again this week, but I hit myself over the head with a reality check last night and am already doing better.  I owe it to myself. Now, more importantly……. ***WARNING – SPOILERS AHEAD*** Did the Biggest Loser tonight make anyone else a sobbing mess?  The first time it hit me was with Max, Mike’s brother.  Oh my goodness, that broke my heart.  That poor guy.  I can say that I know how he was feeling, because I’ve been there.  I know what he’s going through.  You already feel so alone being at such a high weight [ ... ]

Weigh-In 2/17/09

Today’s weigh-in is a full-blown miracle.  Somehow, I lost 3.1 pounds and made it back into the 180s!  As I mentioned, I did fairly great on the exercise front, but food-wise, I lost my mind.  This is hard to admit, but over the course of Saturday alone, I ate an entire medium deep dish, extra pepperoni (with banana peppers and grated parmesan cheese) Domino’s pizza by myself.  Minus one slice that my dad snatched.  It was extremely delicious and I didn’t eat it all at once (I probably could have, but made it two meals and a snack), but still!  When [ ... ]

Biggest Loser 1/6/09 – New Season!

WARNING ***SPOILERS AHEAD***  *** I just got done watching the season premiere of The Biggest Loser and can tell that it’s going to be a good season.  Having started at an extremely high weight myself, I am relieved to see so many larger-sized contestants, especially larger women.  I will find it interesting to see how they respond to life on the ranch and will wonder if that is how I would have responded.  My heart simply breaks for these people.  They have so much more courage than I.  I would never have been able to stand up there for critique the way they did.  [ ... ]

Weigh-In 12/2/08

My prayers came true, though I didn’t ask for much.  My only wish was that I would stay in the 180s.  I’m still there – just barely, but I’m still there.  I weighed in at 189.3 today, up 1.9 pounds from last week.  Considering I was up as far as 193 over the weekend, I can’t complain. I stayed on plan today and counted all of my points.  Even better, I stayed within my points/flex points.  I’m determined to have a loss next week. Lots of “loser” vibes to all those who still need to weigh in this week! Sorry, Tony P., but [ ... ]

Biggest Loser 11/18/08

I only have one thing to say about tonight’s episode: BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I adored Amy, but after tonight…..ew, that girl’s on my list. I’m so beyond disgusted right now.

Tips from the BL Trainers

Skye-Lynn was so generous as to send me a link to information on the recent Biggest Loser episode of Oprah since I missed it.  There was a link from there that contained a Q&A with Bob & Jillian.  Many of their tips are things that reinforce what I’ve learned over the past two years from the wonderful people I’ve met through Weight Watchers.  I found it very interesting and helpful, and I thought I would share! At one point, they discuss the need for taking a day or two off from exercise to heal and rest.  I immediately thought [ ... ]

Biggest Loser 10/28/08

*****WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD *****    I find it so interesting that the majority of people that I’ve heard from have similar opinions about this season of The Biggest Loser.  I’ve mentioned before that I originally refused to watch the show, thinking that it was merely another new way to attempt to capitalize on and make fun of fat people.  Then I finally got around to watching an episode and I was hooked.  While their exercise regimen is completely unreasonable and incompatible with real life, there are a lot of great tips that get thrown out by the trainers.  It’s also wonderful to [ ... ]

An Irish Prayer

I’m currently in the middle of saying massive prayers for myself.  For the longest time, I’ve dreamed of going to Ireland and as it stands, I could honestly say that for the past few years it has been my biggest dream in life.  I have the chance to go with two very good friends in March.  They’ve been so kind as to invite me along on their adventure.  The added benefit is that they’ve already been once before. My only problem now is figuring out how to pay for it.  Luckily it’s several months away, so I have a bit of [ ... ]

My Wii Fit is a Smart-Ass

In the second miracle of the week, I actually stepped foot on my Wii Fit last night.  When I turned it on and selected my name, it popped up with a message that said something like “well, look who it is!”  And then stated “It’s been 41 days since your last visit.”  Yeah, yeah.  I know.  I didn’t need the little balance board guy to rub it in.  He is awfully cute though. I decided that if I wanted to watch The Biggest Loser, then I was going to get my ass in gear and work out for a little bit even though I [ ... ]

Biggest Loser 9/16/08

WARNING *** SPOILERS AHEAD *** So, was anybody else as freaking excited about the start of the new Biggest Loser season?  Sadly, I missed the first 15 minutes, but I’m so pumped right now.  I’m looking forward to getting sucked into these people’s lives.  As I start to write this, I’m not even all the way through the first episode and it’s already brought me to tears. Just a few random thoughts: It was sad to see the green team go, because they seem like really sweet people, but they’ve done fantastic since they were sent home.  I am glad Heba is going [ ... ]

Biggest Loser 4/08/08

WARNING *** SPOILERS *** Oh man, what an incredible episode this week’s show was!  So much inspiration – both by the contestants’ example and the sharing of their new insight.  I can’t imagine how they must have felt to put those body suits on that made them their old weights.  That must have been extremely difficult.  But what perspective it must have given them!  The video flashbacks had me tearing up, of course.  They’ve all come so far and have put themselves through so much over the course of the competition. I’ll get it out of the way by saying that the [ ... ]
