Hi all! Today, I thought I would combine two of my favorite things: weight loss and “Lbs.” the movie. You have to admit that they kind of go together.
So today was weigh-in day, and I’m thoroughly ecstatic. For the first time in months (since November, actually) I am below the 250 mark!! WHOOHOOO!! I’m so excited. I weighed in today at 248.5 for a loss of 3.2 lbs. I am back down 21.3 lbs since I recommitted myself to plan, and am down a total of 94.4 lbs altogether.
I’m back in the swing of things! I deserved this loss, because [ ... ]

Happy Sunday all!
I hope you’re having a good weekend. I am, though, as usual, it’s flying by WAY too fast. Along with our usual errand-running yesterday, my mom and I did a bit of sightseeing right here at home in Kansas City.
We’ve been talking about going to the
Steamboat Arabia Museum for months and months, and finally decided to just go. I had been a couple of times on school field trips when I was a kid, but my mom had never been.
In 1856, the Steamboat Arabia hit a snag and sank in the middle of the great [ ... ]

We all know that losing weight can be really difficult. Especially if you have a food addiction or are a chronic overeater. Over the past few months, I’ve learned that it’s even harder to do it again.
I’ve explained before that I’ve been overweight since about the 3rd grade. I still don’t know what the turning point was, where I went from a skinny child running around in tube tops to being so overweight that the kids in my class called me a “beach ball.” But there was one, and regardless of what brought it on, that’s what happened to me.
I [ ... ]

Hi all! This week has been a rough, rough week at work. By the time I’ve gotten home, I’ve barely had the energy to get on the computer, let alone write a post. But I wanted to finally tell you a bit more about my trip. I warn you now, this is gonna be a long one -- mostly pics though.
Last Wednesday night, I think I got about 3 1/2 hrs of sleep. Thursday, I got up early to take care of quite a few things before my trip like getting an oil change in my car and picking up [ ... ]

Okay, get your head out of the gutter. I’m not talking about for me.
But I am talking about a great short film by “
Lbs.” director, Matthew Bonifacio. When I was talking to him on Friday, I asked him about some of the other projects he’s done. I had seen that he had done some shorts and was wondering if any of them were available for viewing. That’s when he told me about “
New Boobs,” which can be found
here on atom.com. Or, you can watch it below. Like I said, I thought [ ... ]

Well, I’m really sad to see my
“Lbs.” movie experience post get bumped down on my blog page, but it’s weigh in day, and I guess it can’t stay at the top forever. Oh wait. Yes, it can. This is my blog and I can do what I want So I’ve added it under my favorite posts at the right.
Not surprisingly, I gained. But I only gained 1.1 pounds! Considering that I ate like the cookie monster from Saturday night through Sunday night, it’s truly a testament to how much walking I did Friday and Saturday [ ... ]

Okay, guys, the moment you’ve all been waiting for. And seriously, I don’t even know where to start. I will say that I absolutely fell in love with DC (and discovered that while I’m a mid-west girl at heart, I’m definitely much more of an east-coast girl than a west-coast girl), but I will write more generally about my trip over the next several days. I can’t put it all into one post – or you’d end up scrolling forever. So I’ll break it into smaller posts (which I’ll warn you, still may not be all that short).
I guess I [ ... ]

Hi all!

I’ve seen no official posts yet, but the last I heard, they will be doing Q&A sessions after the last two showings on Friday night (7:50 and 10:10). I believe there will also be others over the weekend. I’ll update this as soon as I know more.
Here are a couple of new [ ... ]

I actually made it through a weekend COMPLETELY within my points!!!!!!!! Me!! I don’t know what it was, but this weekend, I just found myself feeling like it had all clicked in my head again. Of course, we’ll see what happens after this weekend trip!
Saturday was a totally crappy day. We were crunched on time for one thing. For another, I was seriously unhappy with the new digital camera I had bought last weekend, and finally decided to return it. (It was a
Canon PowerShot SX120IS.) The specs were awesome and the features were incredible in theory, [ ... ]
Have you all seen the movie “Fatso” starring Dom DeLuise? It was made in 1980. Thanks to the power of Netflix, I heard about it and was able to watch it last night. Ironically, while I was on the treadmill.
I highly, highly, highly recommend it for anyone who has ever had a problem with overeating. It’s both heartbreaking and hysterical. Here is the plot summary from Amazon:
From the day he was born, food has always been the ultimate comfort for middle-aged bachelor Dominick DiNapoli (Dom DeLuise). But when his obese cousin [ ... ]

Hi everybody!
How was your weekend? Do anything fun? I was up bright and early Saturday morning on a hunt for new workout shoes. Unfortunately, I have big feet and pretty flat arches, so it’s not an easy proposition. I tried several different ones on and ended up going with ones that my friend, Shawna, recommended. They’re the Nike Air Zoom Structure Triax. They felt incredible in the store, but after a few hours of wearing them, my feet were pretty sore. I’m going to give them a good workout on the treadmill over the next couple of weeks and hopefully [ ... ]

I hope everyone had a happy Friday! While mine got off to a start reminiscent of last Friday, it finally chilled out an hour or so ago and things have been moving much more reasonably now. At the beginning, we had several large projects, our work bin was full, and the phone calls and e-mails kept pouring in. It was insane. But all is well now (because we rock! ).
On the food front, I’m doing much better. I’ve stuck to my points the past couple of days, and I’m proud of that. See, my slip-ups are getting shorter [ ... ]

Hi all! I hope you’re having a good week so far!
As usual, this post is going to be a mish-mash of craziness that’s been running through my head lately. In fact, I seem to be doing a lot of these posts lately. Maybe I’ll get my act together one of these days. As an example of my thought process right now, I currently have 27 tabs (no joke) open in my internet browser -- mostly things I need to look at or share with you all or just deal with later.
First, thank you all so much for the [ ... ]

Hi all! I just wanted to remind you that “
Lbs.” will be opening up in Minneapolis this Friday at the
Lagoon Cinema. Click on the link for more theater information or click
here to purchase tickets (they should be available in the next day or two). You can also get them on
Fandango. Carmine Famiglietti will be in attendance Friday and Saturday night for Q&A sessions. All I have to say is that man has got to be exhausted by now!
Also, for those of you in the NY area, according to [ ... ]

Okay, so I started this post yesterday with the headline “A Terrible, Rotten Week.” Now, it’s more of a “Roller-Coaster Week.” I’ll explain.
My original post began: “Ah, people. Pamela has fallen and fallen hard. It’s pretty safe to say that it’s been a pretty terrible, rotten week. A lot of it of my own making, but most definitely not all.” I will continue here with my original post, and then tell you what has since changed.
Last week was going (not good or bad, just going). I was plugging along, feeling ravenously hungry for some reason, but sticking to my [ ... ]
