“Lbs.” the Movie in Durham, North Carolina

Hi folks!  I’ve been slacking on getting you the latest “Lbs.” the movie info!  Though there was a slight lull for a while  (I’m sure the guys needed a break). So here is the latest: “Lbs.” will be premiering in Durham, North Carolina on August 20th at the Durham Arts Council.  Click here for more information.  Tickets are $10 and Carmine Famiglietti will be in attendance. And in somewhat related news, “Lbs.” director, Matthew Bonifacio is set to begin filming his next film, a “follow your dreams comedy,” entitled “Not for Nothing” in NYC in September.  Check out the [ ... ]

TEDxKC & Brené Brown

Hi all!  Coming off of my high of the soccer game yesterday, I have some more good news. You all know that I work/sleep some funky hours.  Well, I heard that the TEDxKC tickets were going to become available today, and since I knew that Brené Brown is going to be one of the speakers, I knew I had to do everything in my power to get tickets.  You can read an article in the KC Star about the event here.  It says, though, that she is going to be speaking on social anxiety and human behavior.  Score! I [ ... ]

Various

Yeah, I had no idea what to call this post, as it’s just another random mish-mash of things going through my head. I’m still on plan!  WHOOHOO! No slipping up at all.  <SHOCKED> I’m getting really excited about the Manchester United v. KC Wizards soccer game on Sunday.  Just really dreading the heat!  It’s at Arrowhead Stadium (Home of the KC Chiefs) and I’ve never been there before in my life even though I grew up here in KC. I’m also excited about *hopefully* attending TEDxKC. I wouldn’t be so excited if it was just the event itself, but

Excited Again

Hi folks!! First, I want to say thank you for your sweet comments on my last few posts. You’ve helped remind me that we’re all in this together! Second, I want to say that I know my past few posts have been on the rather depressing side. Let me assure you that I don’t sit around feeling sorry for myself. Seriously, I don’t. Most of the time I don’t even think about the things I posted about – but they’re there, hovering in the background, so I thought I would come out and acknowledge them. Now, on [ ... ]

Mourning “This World Fair”

A while back, I went through an “obsessed with Shia LaBeouf’s acting” stage and saw the movie “Disturbia” an obscene number of times in the theater.  I bought the soundtrack and for the most part, I adored it.  It introduced me to some bands that I’d never heard before.  One of them became one of my favorites:  This World Fair. I eagerly anticipated the release of their new album a couple of years ago.  The release date seemed set according to a friend that worked in the industry, and I was thoroughly excited.  I fell in love [ ... ]

My Latest Toy

I am finally blackberry-less!  WHOOHOO!  Don’t get me wrong.  I don’t have anything against Blackberry, and I may get another one at some point in the future – you never know – but the one that I owned was getting on my very last nerve.  Issues out the whazoo. Sometimes, I think fate is a distinct possibility. I’ve been having trouble sleeping for the past few weeks (as if that’s really anything new), so have been pretty tired a lot of the time.  And when you factor in the fact that I was sick Thursday and Friday, you get a Pamela that’s [ ... ]

“Lbs.” the Movie in Fort Lauderdale, FL

Hi again! as a follow-up to my last post, I just discovered that “Lbs.” will be showing in Fort Lauderdale, FL on July 25th at the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLIFF).  It will be held at Cinema Paradiso and it looks like both Carmine Famiglietti and Michael Aranov will be in attendance for a Q&A session after the show.  Check out more details here.

“Lbs.” the Movie in Phoenixville, PA

Hi all! It’s been a while since I’ve sent out an update on “Lbs.” movie openings. It was announced today that it will be opening in Phoenixville, PA (about 30 miles outside of Philadelphia) on July 12th. It will be running through Thursday the 15th. You can find out more info on the theater’s website here. I’ve also added the details to my “Lbs.” page. For any of you who are new to my blog and may have missed my “obsession” of the last [ ... ]

Weigh In 7/6/10 – “Holy Moly”

As the perfect bookend to the cheese fest that was my post of yesterday, I had my weigh in today.  And, um, I somehow, unbelievably, incredibly, lost 5.8 pounds!  I think I just heard a collective “huh”?!?!  I certainly know there was one from my neck of the woods earlier today. I know I mentioned yesterday that my weekend involved Domino’s pizza and Krispy Kreme donuts (yes plural).  It also involved my mom’s yummy sausage/egg breakfast casserole, among other delicious items.  So it’s all even more baffling to me.  But I’ll take it.  Work has been a fair nightmare lately.  [ ... ]

Little House on the Prairie the Musical

Well, my weigh in wasn’t pretty today, so we’ll gloss right over that.  It could always have been worse, of course.  But this has been an odd, odd week for me.  Lots going on & lots of stress.  Unfortunately, the rest of the week isn’t looking like it’s going to be that much more fun.  In fact, my supervisor surprised us with our yearly employee evaluations today.  Luckily it went well and my week-long bout of swine flu at the end of last year didn’t adversely affect it. I didn’t get much sleep all last week or over the weekend, but [ ... ]

Fun Stuff (and the WP-Table Reloaded Plugin)

Hi again, guys!  As you all know, I dearly love movies and books and all other such things.  You’ve also probably figured out that I tend to get really excited about things that I enjoy – even a bit giddy.  I have also over the years collected quote upon quote upon quote – the location of which I’m not exactly sure of.  They’re scattered in journals, notebooks, post-its, and the like from my bedroom to the living room to the kitchen to my storage unit. For a while I’ve been wanting a central location for such things that I love, because [ ... ]

Even a half-assed try is better than no try at all

Hi all! I think this post might be fairly short, because I’m pretty much running on fumes right now.  I’ve had very little sleep since the end of last week.  While some circumstances helped make that happen, a lot of it is my own fault (and the damn show, “Supernatural“).  I’m also attempting to get my dad sucked into the show “Angel,” and he and I have been watching a few episodes when I got off work the past few nights.  Which pushes back my “Supernatural” watching, and since I just can’t wait to see what happens, that [ ... ]

Misbehaving and Bargaining

Score!  The upgrade to WordPress 3.0 fixed the glitch in my blog that’s been driving me bonkers for the last six months at least.  Creating new posts won’t be such a pain in the ass from now on.  WHOOHOO!  So hold on tight, this is going to be a long one folks, and will probably veer all over the place.  LOL I mentioned yesterday that this week has been better, but still kind of on the so-so front food-wise.  I counted points several of the days, but still went over by more than I would like and didn’t count yesterday.  I [ ... ]

Chely Wright

Hi all!  Before I get to Chely Wright, I’m going to get some business/miscellaneous stuff out of the way.  I upgraded to WordPress 3.0 last night, so let me know if you run into any glitches or if something isn’t working right for you.  So far, everything seems to be working okay as far as I can tell (well, as okay as it ever worked, anyway).  I think it might have also fixed the glitch I was having with making new blog posts/pages.  I was hoping!  Keep your fingers crossed! Second, thanks for the support on my last post!  I’m hanging [ ... ]

“Monday Came” by J.R. Richards (Music from “Lbs.” the Movie)

Hi everyone!  I have a “Lbs.” update! I know you all have been in withdrawal! I personally think this is a fun one, though. When I saw the theatrical version of the film when I was in DC at the beginning of May, the song that was playing over the credits caught my attention.  I really liked what I had heard of it (which actually wasn’t much since they muted it to start the Q&A – not that I’m complaining or anything). I’ve been trying to find out what the song was (all I could remember hearing was the [ ... ]
