I Just Did a 5K!

Okay, so it was on my treadmill, and it took me a little over an hour, and I mostly walked, but I did it!!!  I’m so proud of me. When I bought my new shoes on Saturday, I decided that if I was going to spend that much on shoes, then I might as well go all out and really get something useful.  So I broke down and got the Nike+ Sportband.  It’s like a wristwatch that connects to a sensor in your shoe and tracks your distance, speed, time, and calories burned. Just An All-Around Bad Day

To say that my day was filled with suckage would be to quote a massive understatement. We’re talking round-trip ticket to suck city. I say “round-trip,” because I refuse to stay in this place and refuse to believe that it won’t get better. And it will…tomorrow. Hi all!  Boy, am I having one of those days! One Week Down!

Hi guys! Just wanted to post an update on my 21-day treadmill challenge.  I just completed 45 minutes tonight by finishing up “Madea Goes to Jail.”  Great movie!  Seriously, at one point, I had tears about to stream down my face and then the next I was cracking up.  It was awesome. Anyway, that completes day 7 of my 21 Day Treadmill Challenge.  I hate to say that I’m proud of myself again – I seem to be saying that a lot – which, believe me, isn’t normal for me.  But I feel like I’ve accomplished SO much lately. A Must Read

Hi folks!  Well, I seem to be on a roll!  Sorry for so many posts in the past couple of days, but I just can’t seem to shut up! I just got off the treadmill – haven’t even hopped in the shower yet – but I wanted to share this with you. That subject line is said with a cheeky grin, of course.  Not that I’ve ever worn a cheeky grin or would recognize it if I had.  But it sounds appropriate. So you all know that I bought a treadmill, right? Did y’all hear any cussin’ tonight?  That would’ve been me and that would’ve been why. We finally got the treadmill put together on Sunday.  Let’s count:  Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  That’s five.  Five freaking days that I worked out in a row!! Here’re the stats so far: Sunday – 61 minutes Monday – 55 minutes Tuesday – 35 minutes (okay, no comments!) Wednesday – 59 minutes Thursday….well, [ ... ]

On a Roll

Well, I did it again tonight, you guys!  I did another hour on the treadmill!  I’m really proud of myself and I felt SO good afterwards.  Who knew?! :) (I know…you all did.)  I can guarantee you, though, there’s no chance of me becoming a workout demon! I think I may take tomorrow night off, just so I don’t overdo it and do too much too quickly.  But I plan on being right back on it Wednesday night. Holy Cow What a Weekend

Hi all!  I hope your weekend was nice!  I feel like I’ve just been going nonstop.  And in those few rare moments when my body wasn’t moving, my brain was. My schedule (working nights, sleeping days) tends to royally jack with my system.  I was tired Friday night, and knew we were thinking about going to the zoo on Saturday (which got rained out), so went to bed around 3:30 am. Wii Fit Plus

I need smacked

Now before you all get too excited and volunteer to be the one to smack me, I first want to say thank you to all of you for your heartfelt, caring comments on my last post.  I had a really good day, filled with happy memories and I think that was partly because of you guys.  I also wanted to say that my thoughts go out to all of you who have also lost loved ones.  I know it’s not easy, but I believe that it helps us to share those experiences. I’m so proud

As far as food goes, my weekend BLEW with a capital blew.  But exercise-wise, I’m pretty damn proud of myself.  Friday night, I took a break at work to climb some of the stairs like I used to.  It’s been a really long time since I’ve done that and was only able to make it about 14 floors (28 flights) this time.  Of course, I was winded after about three floors and thought I was going to die by the time I was done.  Here’s me about to pass out (which in hindsight really isn’t that funny considering my recent [ ... ]

Pink-Spotted Freak

That’s what I feel like right now.  I have a piece of advice for you.  If you’re ever hiking in the woods, and you get really hot, and then suddenly feel that you must shove your sleeves up to your elbows, don’t, I repeat, don’t do it!  I am covered in mosquito bites again.  The pink comes from the Caladryl that I applied in a desperate attempt to relieve some of the itchiness.  I think I’m due for another application because – oh my God, I don’t think there’s any explanation necessary. Stair Victory

A while ago, I was posting often about climbing the stairs at work for exercise on breaks.  I haven’t posted about it in a while and there is a very simple reason for that.  I haven’t been doing it, due to my continuing fatigue issues. Tonight, I decided to give it another whirl.  I did my usual 11 floors (22 flights) up, but there was a difference this time. Today, I have no one and no thing to blame but myself for my lack of exercise.  Ah, what the hell, I’m going to blame it on the book I’m reading.  I stayed up late this morning reading, which if you know anything about me, you know that that in itself isn’t all that unusual.  Usually, it is because the book is so incredibly good that I can’t stand to put it down.
