Rain, Rain, Go Away

My walk was called on account of rain today.  It’s been pouring all day.  Normally I adore the rain, but not when it interferes with my walks and when I have to drive in it.  And I wasn’t about to go for a walk in the rain.  I just don’t enjoy the rain or walking that much.  So without shedding a tear, I went back to bed.  Day two of my second week has gone well.  Except for the lack of exercise yet again. I’m currently eating my lunch which consists of: Ambrosia apple (1 point) – I am seriously still loving these. Weight [ ... ]

Day Three = Success

Well, I was thisclose to skipping my walk and going back to bed, but I didn’t do it.  I actually kept my butt out of the sheets and went for a walk.  I walked for about 40 minutes and really pushed myself as far as intensity. I also only used 3.5 flex points today!  With my two activity points, that falls down to 1.5 flex points which is well under my five point limit.  All in all, I’d say day three is a success. When I’m walking, I usually keep my head down and watch the ground.  There are several reasons for this.  One is so that I [ ... ]

My Own Personal Sitcom Moment

The one highlight of my long weekend was when my mom and I decided to spend Saturday at a local Botanical Garden.  When my mom brought up the idea, I thought it sounded like it would be a lovely area to check out and it would be the perfect opportunity to get some exercise while sightseeing.  We decided to pick up the always safe Subway for lunch and make a day of it. The area was gorgeous and while we didn’t check out the entire area, we learned that they have several trails that you can follow to get some great exercise.  [ ... ]

Punishment?

I decided not to go for a walk today.  I went yesterday, but I just couldn’t do it when I woke up today.  I even got out of bed, went to the bathroom, and then went back to bed for an hour!  I know I should have just done it, especially since I was actually up and out of bed, but I just didn’t want to.  So, I didn’t. When I woke up, I had a splitting headache that is just now starting to slightly dissipate.  I realized soon after that I think I was being punished today for not going for [ ... ]

Hell Has Frozen Over

You heard it here first, folks!  Hell has frozen over!  For two days in a row, I’ve done the unthinkable.  I actually got my ass out of bed early and went for a walk!  I know!  Whoever would have thought?  I’ve honestly never done that before in my life. Of course, it has only helped me get further and further behind in my blog/e-mail reading.  I promise to catch up soon, but I’ve been so exhausted by the time I’ve gotten home from work lately, that I haven’t been able to do much more than plop on the couch and catch [ ... ]

My Wii Fit is a Smart-Ass

In the second miracle of the week, I actually stepped foot on my Wii Fit last night.  When I turned it on and selected my name, it popped up with a message that said something like “well, look who it is!”  And then stated “It’s been 41 days since your last visit.”  Yeah, yeah.  I know.  I didn’t need the little balance board guy to rub it in.  He is awfully cute though. I decided that if I wanted to watch The Biggest Loser, then I was going to get my ass in gear and work out for a little bit even though I [ ... ]

Anyone have an oxygen tank?

You guessed it.  I just got doing the stairs.  Although, this time, it’s finally been proven that I’m a psycho. Here’s today’s play-by-play: I climbed from 13 to 24 (11 floors, 22 flights of stairs). I walked/ran down to 3 (21 floors, 42 flights of stairs). And then, to prove how insane I am: I climbed back up to 13 (10 floors, 20 flights of stairs). Total:  42 up and 42 down. If you have an oxygen tank that is currently not in use, please contact me immediately. That is all.

I thought I was gonna die and other fun stuff

I just did the stairs here at work for the first time in over a week.  I thought I was gonna die.  I honestly did.  For a moment, anyway.  My heart felt like it was going to beat right out of my chest and go plop right there on the stairs in front of me.  Now, isn’t that a pretty image? I made it, though! As far as the other fun stuff: My department works for the entire company – anyone can bring us work.  Well, almost anyone.  There is a man that used to bring us work fairly regularly – at least [ ... ]

The Infamous Stairs From Hell

I did the stairs at my work 4 out of 5 days last week and thought I would take in my camera to show you these stairs from hell.  Since I take you guys with me every time I’m climbing those stairs, I thought you should see the place that may turn into my deathbed. As you can see from this picture, I’m already starting to wear a path in the steps.  This is a shinier version of me after making it to the 25th floor (the sign says, “Stairs:  Roof Access.” And this is [ ... ]

Weigh-In 7/1/08

Well, this is a first for me.  I weighed-in at exactly the same weight as I did last week.  Down to the same tenth of a pound.  It’s crazy.  So my loss/gain for the week is 0.0, but it’s better than gaining!  I’m blaming it on the stairclimbing and other added strength training I’ve been doing this past week.  I decided it was time to amp things up. However, I’m noticing a disturbing trend.  If you look at my Progress Chart, and look and compare from week 98 down and then from week 105 down, you might notice the [ ... ]

Legs Are Gonna Be On Fire

I posted the other day about attempting the stairs here at work and about feeling like I was going to die by the time I stopped.  That night, I went from the 13th floor to the 17th floor at blazing speeds and ended up breathing like an uncontrolled asthmatic after a five mile race. Tonight I decided what the heck.  I’ll try it again.  A goal has been hanging around in the back of my mind ever since that maybe next week I would start trying it again every chance I got.  Eventually, my goal was to work my way all the way to the [ ... ]

Oh so tired…

Warning:  The writer currently writing this blog may crash at any moment.  Prepare for it to end midsentence.    Okay, that probably won’t happen – I do tend towards the dramatic at times – but I am seriously oh so tired right now.  I wrote last weekend about how my sleep schedule is starting to get to me.  This week hasn’t been much help.  I got back to normal M-T of this week, but then I had to get up REALLY early for the dentist yesterday.  Luckily, it only took about an hour and a half and I was home in time [ ... ]

Broke My Own Record Again

I posted earlier this evening about breaking my own record for the Advanced Step game on the Wii Fit.  I just got done working out (74 minutes!) and I broke my own record again! 646 points 310 Perfect steps 26 OK steps 0 Misses Whoohoo!  I know it may be nothing to some people, but I know I’m going to have a hard time beating this one.  I’m sure gonna try!

Wii Fit

I have loudly proclaimed my love of everything Wii since I got mine several weeks ago.  Even though I’ve had it for a while now, I’m still fascinated by the technology that went into it.  The only games I currently have (and I’m probably showing what a geek I am) are: Wii Sports (have the shoulder injury to prove it), Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Shrek The Third (haven’t tried this one yet), Super Mario Galaxy (am thoroughly addicted), Game Party (not quite enjoyable), and Elebits (rather annoying). I’ve recently been eyeing the Endless Ocean game, but have been waiting in the hopes that the [ ... ]

I just got my ass kicked

It’s been almost a year since I let Leslie Sansone out of her box.  I think she wanted revenge.  She succeeded in her mission and sufficiently kicked my ass. My new friend, Carlos, set the bar really high exercise-wise this week.   Without even realizing it, he issued a challenge.  And again, without him realizing it, I took him up on it!  After having a rough night, he still got out there and exercised.  I could think of no reason (none that would sound good to anyone other than my own warped mind anyway) why I couldn’t work out tonight. Because I work [ ... ]
